It was the final league game of the season for us and we faced a resilient Princetown side at Legends Park.

Princetown 1 - 4 CMOB

Preparation wasn’t great for this fixture with a large amount of the lads turning up very late to the game ⏰
Lee Dare was running things with the Gaffa away for the weekend and still serving his suspension πŸ“
Lee would take no rubbish from the players and bench some of the late offenders πŸ˜‚
Matt Galloway would be between the sticks for the second week running 🧀
Kian Berry & Sam Russell would return to the squad in the hope of securing the 3 points for us.
Joe Borockzy was in fine form and would run the Princetown defence ragged.
Joe Borockzy would take away a brace on the day and be unlucky not to take away the MoM award.
Kian Berry would grab yet another goal for himself this season and again cause the full back all sorts of problems πŸ”₯
The goal of the day though came from Jordan Dunn who unleashed an absolute rocket into the top bins to secure the game for us πŸš€ πŸ—‘οΈ
The MoM award also goes to Jordan Dunn who was unbelievable on the day, completely solid in defence and brilliant going forward πŸ₯‡

With the games now running out fast, CMOB were desperate to finally find some form going into our game Vs Q&C 2nds πŸ™πŸ»
It was our last Home game of the season and Yealmpton was looking fantastic 🏑

CMOB 2 - 6 Princetown

We would welcome Matt Galloway into the squad to help us out in the goalkeeping department.
Steve Wills would last minute turn up and take up a place on the bench as an outfield player πŸ§€πŸ‘€
Jordan Dunn would also make him return despite struggling with multiple injuries πŸš‘
Finally Dave Smith would be deployed at CB with Trigger missing & the Gaffa suspended πŸ“
CMOB would start well in this game and would take the lead early on through Jack Lethbridge.
The ball would be squared to Jack on the edge of the box, Jack would compose himself before sending a worm burner right into the corner of the net πŸͺ± πŸ”₯
Princetown however would react brilliantly and their CM would score a great goal from distance.
Princetown would continue to turn the screw and take the lead in the game.
CMOB would respond again when Jake Evans went past his man and was fouled in the box.
Jake would step up to take the penalty himself and slot it home brilliantly πŸ‘
Unfortunately for us we could not get a hold of the game and Princetown would end up walking away with it on the day 😫
To make matters worse, Jake Evans would pull up with a hamstring strain with 10 minutes left on the clock ⏰ πŸš‘
Despite the injury Jake was the main man for us on the day, he was dangerous at all times and takes home the MoM award πŸ₯‡

*05/05/26*

CMOB were involved in an evening fixture against a forever tricky South Brent outfit.
South Brent would of course be looking for revenge after we knocked them out of the Sunday Supplementary Cup at the Semi Final stageπŸ†

South Brent 2 - 1 CMOB

Despite having a Cup Final in the not so distant future, CMOB were struggling to get a squad together for our remaining fixtures 😫
Liam Hooks would be drafted in to play as an outfield player and Sam Russell would play his 4th game in 5 days πŸƒπŸ»πŸ™πŸ»
Ollie Pound would also make himself available and help us out massively.
The pitch was very bobbly and dry but both teams would do their best to try and play football.
South Brent would make the breakthrough first and take the lead in the game.
We would respond though an expertly converted Jack Lethbridge free kick πŸš€
South Brent would take the lead yet again in the game when their player curled a brilliant effort in after a snakey run 🐍
We would throw everything at South Brent to try and rescue something from the game.
The Gaffa would be fouled in the penalty box late in the game πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ The referee pointed to the spot but then seemed to forget about it 5 minutes later and give us a free kick instead πŸ˜‚
Shortly after the whistle would blow and we would continue our poor league form with yet another loss.
MoM goes to the goal scorer who never gave up and did his best to drag us back into the game with a great free kickπŸ‘

CMOB were fresh from a good result vs Seymour but knew they would be met with a tough game on Friday night at DHS.

Tamar View 2nds 9 - 0 CMOB

CMOB would do ok in the opening exchanges of the game but wouldn’t manage to create anything worthwhile.
For pretty much the whole game the boys in claret & blue would really struggle to get any sort of opportunity on goal, we were also very poor on the ball and defensively throughout 🩷🩡😫
Tamar seconds however were straight out the of the blocks on the night and you could tell they were hungry for victory.
There was some great football on display from them and some fantastic goals on show in this game πŸ‘
We were never in it and the 3 points went deservingly to Tamar 2nds.
Congratulations to Tamar who went unbeaten all season and are Champions of Sunday Division 2 πŸ”₯
Tamar also took some great photos and was kind enough to get some of the lads best angles πŸ˜‚ πŸ“·
Not a great showing from us but Callum Treleaven was in fine form despite the amount of goals he had to pick out of his net πŸ₯…
It could of been much much more if it wasn’t for him and his heroics 🧀πŸ₯‡

*19/04/26*

After a disappointing result last time out vs Horrabridge, the boys were looking for a result and a much improved performance this weekπŸ’ͺ🏻

Seymour 0 - 10 CMOB

CMOB were blessed with good numbers this week but Jordan Dunn was a little worse for wear after his Plympton pub crawl the night before 🍻 🀒
Jordan would throw up a number of times before taking his place on the bench.
Lee Dare would be deployed in between the sticks in order to give his hamstrings a rest🧀
The boys in blue would start really well and get themselves in front on the day πŸ’™ 🀍
The Gaffa would cut inside from the left, slide a pass to Jack Lethbridge who would expertly curl an effort into the net πŸ‘
The Gaffa was again involved, he would push a ball through the lines to Joe Borockzy who beat the offside trap, Borockzy now bearing down on goal, he’d shoot from the angle, the ball was going towards the halfway line in fairness but luckily for him the defender would finish it off for him πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚
Jake Evans was next on the scoresheet when he coolly slotted the ball home from close range 🧊 πŸ†’
Dave β€˜Trigger’ Wrench would then 50p head a number of headed efforts wide of the mark πŸͺ™
The ball was then delivered deep into the box, the Gaffa had a free header at goal, Joe Borockzys bum would get in the way however and the ball eventually would land kindly for Lewis Kittle, Lewis would compose himself before driving the ball powerfully home on the volley πŸš€
Next Jake Evans would d**k a ball over the Seymour defence, the Gaffa would pick the ball up in behind, the keeper had come a long way but the Gaffa would end up caressing the ball past him and find the net πŸ₯… ⚽️
Nick Baldwin was introduced at HT and he was straight into the action when he met a ball first time from distance, he caught it so well, the ball was destined for the top corner but somehow the keeper would push it around his post 😫 ❌
Nick would moments later find the net when Frazer Ferris’s jinking run set up Nick to strike the ball from the edge of the box.
The ball would loop perfectly over the keeper and nestle nicely in the Seymour goal πŸ‘
The pitch had been cut but the lines had not been marked unfortunately.
This proved to be a massive issue for Nick Baldwin who tried to take a throw in from the centre of the pitch πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚
Joe Borockzy would get in behind 1v1, he was ready to place the ball but would end up hitting it straight at the keeper, the ricochet would end up at Jake Evans feet for an easy tap in.
Jake Evans was in the thick of it again soon after down the right hand side, he’d get past the full back and pull a straight ball back for Nick Baldwin to bundle the ball into the net ⚽️⚽️
Throughout the game Jake Evans had formed a good relationship with the Seymour Lino, the Lino had pulled him up for being offside for most of the second half πŸ˜‚ 🚩
Jack Lethbridge then would deliver a cross from wide, Joe Borockzy would go to meet it with his head, head it onto the defender and again somehow find the net.
Finally Sean Esson got himself on the scoresheet when he had moved himself upfront in the game.
Jordan Dunn had just about got his head out of the pub by now and delivered a delightful ball across goal for Sean to finish in the box.
Just as the game was coming to a close a horrible noise was heard, everyone thought it was just a clash of shin pads but it turns out the Seymour defender had got his leg stuck in the ground and unfortunately broken his leg πŸš‘
The game was brought to a close 5 minutes early because of this, we take away the 3 points but we wish the Seymour player a speedy recovery πŸ™πŸ»
Some classy performances all around the pitch today but MoM goes to Nick Baldwin who was unstoppable in this game.
Full of running and was also dangerous in front of goal πŸƒπŸ» πŸ”₯ πŸ₯‡

CMOB faced an energetic Horrabridge rangers away from home in the hope of taking away another 3 points this season 🀞

Horrabridge 2 - 2 CMOB

The Gaffa would welcome back players after the disappointing Admiral Macbride results.
Only Sean Esson would make it into the starting 11 however, with the rest having to settle for a place on the bench.
Sam Russell would join the squad and look to make his first appearance of the season for us.
Dave Smith would be forced in between the sticks again this season will all of our x20 keepers unavailable 🧀 πŸ‘΄πŸ»
The pitch was a bobbly one and CMOB would really struggle to get a grip of the game early on.
Horrabridge was far more comfortable on the pitch and definitely had more of the ball.
We were then dealt a blow early on when we defended a corner horrendously.
The ball would be delivered via a corner and the Horrabridge player would head the ball home unchallenged 😫
This would kick CMOB into action and we would begin to finally pass the ball around as best as we could.
CMOB would level through the Gaffa who was playing off the left in this game.
He’d receive the ball out wide, drive at the full back, cut inside before firing a powerful effort that could not be stopped by the keeper πŸ‘
Almost straight away the Gaffa was at it again and rolling back the years.
This time he would pull off his trademark Jay Jay Okocha skill move, turn the full back inside out again, fire another shot at goal …. Buttttt the ball would just skim the post and go out for a goal kick πŸ”₯
The whistle would go for half time after a poor half in general from the boys in blue and white πŸ’™πŸ€
The Gaffa would look to his bench, make all possible changes and try to turn the game in our favour.
The changes would make an instant impact and we would start the second half with a large amount of possession.
After some good play in the midfield, the ball would be played in between the Horrabridge defenders and find Jake Evans in on goal.
Jake would make no mistake and slide the ball past the helpless keeper 🧊 πŸ†’
The more the game would go on, the more CMOB would let Horrabridge back into the match.
Horrabridge would bring on their tall striker and it was him who would draw them level in the game.
The ball would be played over Trigger who was running in treacle and we would recover momentarily before the ball would go out wide again 🐌
The wide player would poke a ball into the box and the tall striker would get there first and slide the ball into our net πŸ₯…
CMOB would push for a winner and we were so close to it right at the end.
The Gaffa would go down the left, deliver a ball into the box and find Jack Lethbridge who just could not direct the ball towards the goal πŸ₯²
The game would finish level in what was a bad day at the office for the lads.
MoM goes to Lee Dare who showed plenty of quality on the ball and played a number of different positions on the day πŸ₯‡

*08/03/26*

We faced Admiral Macbride 1sts who historically have caused us all sorts of problems.
We hoped to improve on our performance in this game.

Admiral Macbride 2 - 1 CMOB

The weather had not been great in the lead up to this fixture, the grass was wet, the surface was bobbly and would almost definitely cut up early in the game β˜”οΈ
CMOB were massively depleted with a large amount of our players away on mystery tour of Latvia of all places πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
Haydn Jenkins & Joe Chivers would make their first appearance of the season away at Western Mill.
Steve β€˜The Monk’ Wills would be deployed inbetween the sticks after his clean sheet last time out 🧀
Admiral would start the better of the two teams, they’d play the ball around nicely and look dangerous on the attack.
Admiral would get lots of joy with long pings in behind our full backs and the wide players were aloud time on the ball 😫
It was the home team who would take the lead in the game very early on, another ball would be played over our full back, the attackers touch was devine in fairness and he would poke to ball past Willsy in goal πŸ‘
CMOB would respond the right way however and the Gaffa would start to impose himself on the game.
The Admiral RB could not get near the Gaffa despite his best efforts.
CMOB would be rewarded for their hard work soon after and level the match.
After some battling in the middle of the park from the Gaffa, he’d get control of the ball and play a ball in behind the Admiral defence.
Joe Borockzy would run on to the ball and smash the ball home on the volley πŸš€
The Gaffa would very nearly put us ahead when the ball ricocheted around in the box.
He just wouldn’t be able to adjust himself enough to divert the ball goal bound.
The Admiral Macbride keeper would then fluff a catch, drop it at Joe Borockzy’s feet, he’d hit it towards goal but the keeper would recover on this occasion πŸ₯… ❌
The Gaffa would continue to give the Admiral RB a torrid time out on the left hand side.
The Admiral manager had ovbiously seen enough and he’d drag the RB off after 35mins of play with a tear in his eye after all of his winging πŸ‘€πŸ₯²
Just before HT Jake Evans would get himself in behind, he’d shape to finish but unfortunately the Lino had his flag up.
The teams would go into HT level and plenty to play for still in the game 🀝
Admiral would once again start the half better than CMOB, they’d have a fair bit of the ball but not really trouble Willsy.
Both teams would huff and puff knowing that the next goal would be crucial in difficult conditions.
Admiral would be the ones to gain the advantage when their player was aloud time to shoot on the edge of the box.
The ball would travel at 1MPH but was soooo far in the corner that Willsy just could not get a hand to it 🐌 ⚽️
Jake Evans would get in behind once more but the offside flag would go up yet again.
CMOB would start to get on top in the game by now and would create a few chances.
The best chance would fall to the Gaffa again.
The ball would be swung in from the right hand side, the Gaffa would meet the ball on the volley, the ball was about to cross the line but Haydn Jenkins would clear it for Admiral Macbride πŸ‘€πŸ˜«πŸ˜‚
The game had become stretched, the Gaffa would be shouting for his team to work hard, get back in and defend …. The Gaffa’s legs however had by now given up on him and he’d watch multiple players run past him πŸ˜‚ … Lead by example and all that πŸ˜’
With the whistle about to blow everyone thought Willsy was about to launch a monster kick into Admirals half … he had other ideas however, he would go full monk, drop the ball at his feet, try to take on the whole Admiral team but end up chopping down the first player he came into contact with 🀯
Luckily the attacker couldn’t find the finish with Willsy well off his line.
The game would end with Admiral taking away a well deserved 3 points on the day.
On reflection availability killed us and we can only hope this will improve in the coming weeks πŸ™πŸ»

*15/02/26*

The weather had been relentless again this week but luckily for us we were playing on Saltmill 3G β˜”οΈ
We knew we would face a difficult opposition who embarrassed us earlier on in the season.

Sporting Club 3 - 5 CMOB

Callum Treleaven would give Dave Smith an early fright when he turned up late ⏰
Kian Berry also fancied himself a lay in but would be named on the bench πŸ›Œ πŸ’€
It wasn’t ideal prep but the boys were focused on giving our opposition a good game at the very least.
Saltmill 3G is a lovely surface, it suited CMOB down to the ground and we would start the game with lots of possession.
There would be some really nice intrecat play in the early exchanges and Cayleb Needham would make himself a handful in the final third.
Cayleb would let go of a few pop shots from just outside the area but see them all sail just wide.
CMOB’s early pressure would pay off soon after with another footballing move.
Cayleb Needham would get slid in down the right hand side, he would fire the ball back across the face of goal at pace, Jake Evans would arrive just in time, connect with perfection and send the ball high into the roof of the net πŸš€
0-1 up and in control, we would be the masters of our own downfall when Dave Smith chopped down the striker in the box βœ‚οΈ
The resulting penalty was almost saved by Callum Treleaven, he would guess the right way but the ball would just slip through his hands on this occasion.
The Sporting striker was rather dramatic and would fall to his knees in slow motion looking for another penalty.
The sound effects and funny body movement would not fool the referee however 🎭
Lee Dare was of course as excitable as ever and would blow his top with the Gaffa midway through the first half.
Darey would send a cross field pass into another dimension but still expect the gather to get onto the end of it πŸ˜‚
Let’s just say some words were exchanged 🀬
Multiple hand ball shouts would soon follow in the Sporting box this time but on each occasion the ref would not be sold.
Dave Smith would go into a 50/50 on 30 minutes and come off much worse πŸš‘
Old Man Smith would end up popping his calf in the tackle and have to be helped off the field of playπŸ‘΄πŸ»
Luckily Kian Berry had finally turned up after a few extra winks and would be chucked straight into the action for us πŸ‘€
CMOB would continue to pile on the pressure and this time Sean Esson would let go of a powerful effort.
The keeper however would get down low, make the save onto the post and out for a corner 🧀 ❌
Both teams would enter HT level after a very entertaining first half of football.
The boys were straight back out of the traps again in the second half and would take the game to Sporting once more.
It would not take long for us to gain the advantage in the gam.
Sean Esson would go on one of his trademark marauding runs from CB, he’d beat close to 3 players before pushing a ball in behind the defence, Kian Berry would run onto the ball and calmly finish across goal πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ πŸ₯…
Frustratingly our lead wouldn’t last long and we would have yet another penalty given against us 😩
Sean Esson would be caught playing as a striker, he’d make up the ground though and get back in but the striker would again cut inside, dive over Sean’s leg with a triple pike and land with minimal splash 🏊 πŸ’¦
This time it was the Sporting defender who would step up and he would make no mistake with the penalty.
Again CMOB would respond the right way and go on the attack πŸ’ͺ🏻
The Sporting keeper would end up making a number of brilliant saves to keep his side in the game πŸ‘
The Gaffa would then go close when he turned inside his man from a throw in, he would toe poke an effort towards the top corner but again the sporting keeper would somehow keep it out.
Dave Trigger Wrench would then connect perfectly with a corner, again the ball was destined for the net but the defenders touch would just about divert the ball wide.
Against the run of play we would see ourselves go behind in the game for the first time.
The CMOB players would be caught sleeping after another attack, the ball would go over our defence, Trigger would be running in treacle but just about make the pass back to Callum, the ball would ricochet around, end up at the strikers feet 1v1, Callum would make a great save at close range but the follow up would just about dribble through and into the net πŸ™„ 🐌
The Gaffa was absolutely fuming on the sideline, he’d slam the linesman flag to the floor in frustration, break it before quickly putting it all back together again and hope the ref didn’t seeπŸ˜‚
Kian Berry would then go on a snakey run, get in behind again and find the net …. The Sporting Lino had spotted an offside in the build up and the goal was deemed offside 🐍
Cayleb Needham would then nick the ball away from the defender, break away at pace, close down on goal but his final touch was just like a trampoline and the keeper would gobble up the ball before he could get his shot off.
CMOB would huff and puff with the clock ticking trying to find the equaliser πŸ•°οΈ
Our efforts would finally be rewarded when Jack Lethbridges free kick was plucked from the sky by Jake Evans in the box, he’d bring it down exquisitely and smash the ball into the Sporting net πŸ”₯
The Lino had his flag up again but the ref seen nothing wrong with it this time.
5 minutes was left on the clock and to be completely honest after how the game had gone so far, the Gaffa probably would of taken a draw in the end.
The lads would have other ideas and show great character to go after the winnerπŸ₯‡
Lee Dare would drive forward with the ball down the left, he’d then deliver the ball into the box, the defenders would not deal with it well enough, it would land right next to Jack Lethbridge, Jack would then d**k a worldy straight into the top corner and leave the keeper with no chance 🀯 🌍
It’s amazing what you can do with your new girlfriend watching on from the dugout πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ’‹β€πŸ‘¨ πŸ‘€
The final whistle was drawing ever closer but we were not done.
Cayleb Needham would win the ball back in the midfield, he’d play a ball into Kian Berry who would nutmeg the defender, drive forward, the defender would get back in but Kian wanted it more than him, he would battle for the ball, brush the defender off with a chop inside before driving the ball under the keeper and seal the 3 points for us on the day 🀩
It was a brilliant game for the neutral and great fight was shown by all in claret and blue who never stopped believing in the game 🩷🩡
Some fantastic performances overall with Callum Treleaven treating us to another great display, making some crucial saves despite the hangover 🍻
Kian Berry was dangerous throughout, always getting in behind with his box of tricks πŸͺ„πŸŽ©
Lee Dare would show his versatility again and Jordan Dunn would also put in a great shift after a few weeks away.
The Gaffa has decided though to give Sean Esson the MoM award who was absolutely everywhere …. sometimes probably playing too high but I guess that’s just how he goes about his business πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’Ό
Sean would be defensively solid, bring the ball down from orbit multiple times, start our attacks and also end up joining in πŸ₯‡
