📣 An announcement about our future 📣

Our members have voted in favour of formally dissolving Lipson Lions Junior Hockey Club in order to take part in a new venture with our fellow Plymouth based clubs.

We’re very excited about what the future will hold, and the new opportunities that will present themselves. We hope you continue to follow this journey.

We will make further announcements in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled!

In light of new restrictions we’re sad to confirm grassroots and club hockey must be suspended for the foreseeable future.

The only grassroots exception we’re aware of at this stage is Flyerz. We expect more nuances; we’re reviewing guidance and will communicate more on Tuesday.

Hi everyone! We wanted to send out an update, as we’re aware it’s been radio silence from Lipson Lions for a while. The committee than runs the club met last night to discuss our pathway back to playing. As you may, or may not be aware, our governing body England Hockey have moved to Stage 4 of their returning to play plan which allows us to train again. However, we have to do a lot of work in the background to get this ready, including writing bespoke Risk Assessments, developing a way to track and trace and buying a tonne of hand sanitiser! To this end, we are planning to return to training at the start of October, to give us time to plan, and also a chance for the children to get used to being back at school as we’re sure that will be a little different for them. If we can bring this date forwards, we will, as we just want to be getting them back playing again, but we have to be doing it safely! We will be sending out updates throughout September so you have all the info you need, and as ever if you have any questions or concerns drop myself or Denise a message. Friday night games will take a little longer, as we have to wait until England Hockey move to stage 5. We hope you’re all safe and we can’t wait to see you all as soon as we can. Liv

Since the end of our season ended more abruptly than planned, we didn't get a chance to hand out our end of season easter eggs.

So we decided to donate them to Provide Devon who are going to distribute them to local children to enjoy with their free school meals.

We hope you're all staying safe, and we're looking forward to seeing you all soon!

💛Thank you Lipson Lions Junior Hockey Club for donating 50 Easter Eggs to Provide Devon. These are all going to local primary schools to include in the children's free school meal lunch bags. Fantastic!💛

In light of the ongoing effects of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and government advice, England Hockey has taken the decision to suspend its nationally run hockey activity. As a club, we are being urged to follow this advice, and as such will be suspending all training and matches. We understand that it’s disappointing as we are so far into the season, but we have to follow the guidance given to us. The committee will keep you updated as we find out more, especially with news of how the league results will be determined.
