Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter Freya Shannon

16 today 🩷🤍🩷

Words can’t describe how much you mean to me & how proud I am of you.

You are becoming the best version of yourself every day & growing into a dedicated , determined & compassionate young woman.

I love our workouts , walks and talks in the car. You are mature enough to understand how life works & able to understand what is important in areas matter most.

You work so hard and focus on you and I love this above many things.

In a world where most girls your age, woman & people I’m general care more about what others think , aren’t true to themselves & lack decency & integrity you shine here.

You are a wonderful friend to those around you. Never letting anyone down & dependable. These are under appreciated traits nowadays where so many others disregard basic values

I love you with all my heart my super

Always a daddy’s girl

My first & the one who made me a better man.

You & your sister without doubt give me the greatest joy in my life & i am lucky to have you in it.

I hope this day & however we celebrate it is what you want it to be

Love you

SUNRISE TO SUNSET

What an INCREDIBLE day.

Time to reflect on the first year of running this event & feeling a lovely sense of accomplishment, pride and appreciation for the whole thing.

A conversation 3 years ago at a Thatchers Cider event with dairy farm owner led to the concept of why it became a thing.

Although my take on it was lightly different to the chat we had that evening it was perfect and fitting and in line with how I like to do things.

Few changes next year but the goal of starting at the official sunrise time on the longest day of the year , walking , taking on a challenge to complete a distance across the day and see the sunset was a positive thing for many reasons.

The walk would challenge you
Physically
Mentally
Build resilience
Help someone push themselves further than they maybe thought they could.
Build positive habits
Meet positive like minded people, connecting and creating a healthy network of others that share a lifestyle.
Mentally not just on the day but building a lifestyle and habits and behaviour around your physical capabilities will lead to a stronger mindset, more confident & more positive outlook on challenges
Plus huge bonus of contributing to two local charities who welcome the sponsorship to carry on doing great work.

Super proud of our group for taking part with me.

I was going to walk it solo or with anyone else this year - you have to start somewhere

The collective is the key, but facilitating something like this allowing others to join only builds the longer you do it. Next year I’m sure we will see it grow. Further benefiting our chosen charities.

Thank you to Adam for doing our design for free supporting our cause

Thank you to all of you who have supported this and donated as we have a collective link for sponsorship

Thank you to the group who got up and walked at 0340 am making it a truly wonderful day. Grateful for your time & effort.

Thank you to my wonderful client Judith who provided the scones, Bakewell and refreshments on route.

So if you are keen to take part in 2026 save the date 20th June 2026 Saturday. Fancy it ?

Links in the bio to donate if you can

Happy Sunday

Much love

Paul

Sunrise to sunset
Hey all

Please 🙏 Donate

So a number of weeks ago I posted about our fundraiser for 2 wonderful charities.

The idea has been here for a few years and I decided that this year even if it’s on my own would be the year that It’s done.

I really feel this could be something that’s empowering & inclusive that will be a challenge , to anyone and also on the levels we have be something anyone can take part in.

SUNRISE TO SUNSET

21 st of June

In short a group of us are walking from 0340 In the morning to the sunset around 2130

We will take on either
26 mile or 34 mile walk

£35 entry & half of the profit goes directly to the two charities

Plus any more raised via sponsorship.

My total goal is to raise between £300 & £500

This for most will represent the furthest distance walked in a day & will not be easy. The idea is to feel a sense of accomplishment, walk with other sunrise and sunseters on our first year , physically pushing the body & allowing us a positive day to reflect on why & our fortunes

To then see the sunset , dip optional and onto a beer and beers for post day social at the Minerva

OPTIONAL ENTRY DISTANCE IS WELCOME

Seems like a good idea to actually do a post

2 years since the lockdown hit.

Man. What a couple of years. Probably feels like 10 right?

What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger.

Like me I’m sure you have probably changed a lot in that time, looked at your life, the things that matter. I’ve had my doubts about what I’m doing.

Luckily I’m quite stoic and the doubts don’t last long enough to see it through & I’m off to another idea.

I’m glad I’m a risk taker, trying to make things happen for myself & others. It’s better to have tried and failed than too never have tried at all. I won’t change.

Some things to think about & I’d love to hear your additions to the list.

1- Life throws you curve balls accept them & throw it back harder
2- People are often scared of the new. People often just need reassurance that it will be ok from those close. Be that person.
3- Sad moments are often followed by happy. We need both to gain perspective.
4- In times of adversity our inner strength comes through you never knew you had. It’s what helps us grow and become more resilient.
5- Being on your own is healthy. Be ok with being able to be great in your own company. Love yourself. Your thoughts can be your biggest asset. Let them be on your side more.
6- Covid showed us the true nature of those around us
Integrity and values that are genuine are few and far
7- Health was important. Look after yourself more. Exercise often and find time for it.
8- Mental health is ever more real. Being ‘kind’ was always a thing. Still be that way.
9- At the toughest times there was a sense that simplicity in our lives was really all that mattered.
Reflect more
10- Walking and talking is and was important
11- 1 hour of exercise a day felt good.
12- We are able to adapt , be happy with less. Strive for more of what makes YOU happy
13- I love peace & quite and time to think and that’s even more important now
14- Social activity is a large part of our happiness.
15- For a while the world was rather equal. That’s still the case. Nobody is better than anyone else

Much love ❤️

So what a day yesterday

Just over 3 weeks ago I reached out to a number of people for help to deliver a little Xmas cheer to those in need.

Supporting those who access the wonderful service of the Plymouth soup run & Shekinah mission charity. They both work incredibly hard to help feed the homeless and those in crisis. They do lots of wonderful things.

I needed to raise around £3000 and get enough people to commit to helping in order to deliver was originally part of the plan a marquee to host a Xmas dinner, paid and prepared by us as well as gift stockings for every single one.

Although we on this occasion couldn’t put the marquee up in incredibly proud of the team that came together on the day to help make over 105-115 dinners , lunches for the next day as well as gift bags containing a lot of Xmas treats.

Brand new sleeping bags and rucksacks were also bought and given to those rough sleepers.

We also provided hot drink such as non alcoholic punch , tea, coffee, hot chocolate.

The end result was truly humbling, the generosity of all leading up to it and the time given meant it was a huge success. Even though those attending are in hard times they still had smiles, laughter and manners.

You know those things that many forget because it just isn’t important!

A special mention to Claire & Matt are cooks, Riverfood Organic for donating all the vegetables and the guys at Tigermilk for the punch and drinks. All those who helped on the day. Thank you!

So many to list but it’s just the beginning of more support to them and other local charities in need.

I always say. Your money is one thing but giving time is another. More need to do it. You are never too far from being in a difficult position yourself, quite possibly needed the services we provided so it’s important to remember this.

Food on your table and a roof over your head and your winning. The rest isn’t important.

I’m grateful for my ability to connect people and do more for others. People will always follow if enabled.

On to the next one.

Much love ❤️

A Xmas they won’t forget

So on the 12th of December, with late notice we are trying to put together a Xmas meal for those who regularly attend the soup run as well as some of those who access the Shekinah homeless charity.

It will be held under a large marquee, Xmas tree, lights and tables set out. We will provide a Xmas meal and give out some gifts to those who come, card etc.

Make them feel special.

I’d had conversations and because of COVID restrictions they aren’t allowed back inside ,so food is given outdoors.

For me we CAN do better. So we WILL!

I need a lot of people to make this happen, from before the day to the day itself. Around lunchtime of the Sunday to prep and get it ready , enabling us to provide a dinner for them.

So I’m simple terms I need some of the following

People to help all day
Part day
-
We will split into teams with different duties and roles.

We are asking though mainly to raise £3000 minimum

So I’m looking for a contribution above £40 as there will be about 75 we will be looking after.

You can donate
£20 or the £40 or sponsor more than 1 and contribute more towards the total target as an individual or a business

Just for now say what you will do or give in the thread

Anything is really appreciated
-

I need to hit this number!

So please help

I am going to need a lot of help leading up to the day as well.

So let’s go!

Please share

Start the week strong

Build good habits

There’s often this idea that there is the perfect training programme, perfect diet plan or perfect answer to something and it seems so many others have it

Whatever ‘it’ is stop looking for it and ask yourself what you can do to improve and make changes to be a better version of yourself.

Can you do something this week or today that could impact on the day or week positively and make you feel better about yourself?

Additional whole food into your diet

Less caffeine

More water

Walk at lunch

Training session after work or couple of times this week

Anyway think less of how someone else got where they are and more about HOW you WILL get where you want to be

Start Monday STRONG

Awesome effort by everyone at the gym today for the OCR (obstacle course race) •
It was a good laugh the whole way and you can see by the look of us we enjoyed it for what it should be which it participating and getting involved. These things can seems quite daunting if you hadn’t done it before but they can be taken at your own pace and if you have a great group and team with you anyone can do it!

It’s absolutely about taking part and realising fitness and health allows choice. The choice to ‘do’ rather than not. Because you can not because you can’t. •
Looking forward to more events as a group, clients and members pushing themselves and making friendships

Well don’t to everyone you all rock! ❤️

Health fundamentals!

Hydration! There are many things I would consider fundamental to good health or pillars of good health that ideally are all addressed before we look at someone being in ‘good health ‘

It’s not just about as would have you believe but many things you need to think about that all compliment each other

It isn’t easy but start with one thing such a better hydration which can help you sleep better, improve digestion, help transport nutrients around the body , improve your skin and help keep you feeling fuller too! So many benefits and something that is easily improved

Don’t let yourself get too far ahead when goal setting but focus on small improvements with realistic time frames and be patient.

Anything that helps keep your body functioning better & help you live longer is worth the effort

Some other are daily & daily

Name me some other pillars? Things you should focus on ?
