On recommendation of our vet for all horses visiting the yard for competition purposes or to use the school is as follows:
All horses must have received a primary course of vaccinations:
-2 vaccinations approximately 4-6 weeks apart
-3rd vaccination about 5 to 6 months after the second
-Booster vaccination within 1 year
Horses that received their primary course historically may have longer times between first and second (up to 92 days) and between second and third (up to 215 days or 6 months and 21 days) and would still be considered ok as were within the rules at the time.
Any horses showing signs of being unwell or off colour should not be brought onto the yard. Symptoms of possible infectious respiratory disease include a cough, nasal discharge, high temperature (>38.3) and enlarged lymph nodes in the throat/under the jaw.
