We had another exceptional night last night at the trials for next season's U14s and U18s teams.

We were super impressed with the amount of basketball talent on show.

COACH PJ TO LEAD PATRIOTS U10, U12, 18 & ACADEMY PROGRAMMES.

Leading from the front, Director of Basketball Coach Paul James continues to drive forward our U10, U12, U18 & Academy programmes.

One of the most decorated coaches in the history of professional British sport and now focused on developing the next generation of British Basketball talent in the Southwest, Coach PJ brings an unrivalled level of experience and knowledge to the young athletes within the Patriots programme.

Fresh off achieving back to back AOC national titles with the Patriots Academy programme, a regional title with our U10 squad, and a strong season finish with both our U18 NBL and U12 CVL teams, Coach PJ continues to further drive the standard of junior Basketball within the city and surrounding areas.

An exciting year of development ahead for our young athletes under the guidance of one of greatest coaches British basketball has ever seen.

PATRIOTS CHRISTMAS GALA 2026

Tickets for our Christmas Gala go on sale on 19th June, and we're already looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic evening!

Taking place on Saturday 28th November at Boringdon Park Golf Club, the black tie Gala will feature:

- Three-Course Dinner
- Live Music from national award-winning band I LOVE AMP
- Fundraising Activities
- Adults Only

You don't need to be involved in basketball to come along. Whether you're a group of friends looking for a night out, a local business planning a staff Christmas party, or simply want an enjoyable evening while supporting grassroots sport in Devon and Cornwall, everyone is welcome.

Ticket prices:

• Individual Ticket: £60
• Early Bird Individual Ticket: £55 (available for the first two weeks after launch)
• Table of 10: £550 (limited number available)
• Table of 12: £660

You don't need to book a full table. Individual tickets are very welcome and we'll make sure everyone has a great evening.

If you're planning to attend as part of a group but can't fill a whole table and would like to sit together, we recommend purchasing all tickets under one booking name so we can seat you together on the night. So get your teammates, parents, friends, or work colleagues together and start planning.

We expect tickets to sell quickly, so we'd encourage everyone to start making plans now. The two-week Early Bird offer takes us right over payday, giving you plenty of time to get your group organised.

COACH DOUG LLEWELLIN TO LEAD PATRIOTS U16 PROGRAMME.

Returning for his 4th season with the Patriots Basketball programme, Head of Performance & Engagement Coach Doug Llewellin continues to take charge of our U16 NBL programme, whilst assisting with the Patriots Basketball Academy programme at Tor Bridge High.

Serving as Assistant Coach for the Wales U15 & U17 National Teams, alongside his recent experiences as a title winning Head Coach at university level, and Assistant at professional level, Coach Llewellin brings international and title winning pedigree to the Patriots Basketball programme.

Looking to build on a strong debut season for the club at U16 NBL level, our U16 squads have an exciting season of growth and development ahead of them, under the tuition and guidance of one of the U.K.’s strongest junior coaches.

COACH BEN FOX TO LEAD PATRIOTS U14 PROGRAMME.

We are delighted to announce that Coach Ben Fox will be leading our U14 NBL and Regional programme from the 2026/2027 season.

With over a decade of dedication to developing and mentoring young athletes across Plymouth, and being one of the most experienced junior coaches in Devon and Cornwall, Coach Ben brings a vast depth of knowledge and experience to our U14 squads.

An exciting year of development and growth ahead for our U14’s, under the leadership of a highly experienced coach.

Last chance to sign up for our 2026/27 season trials!

If you’re hoping to try out for one of our development teams next season - you MUST register by Sunday night.

FREE trials are taking place from June 15 for two weeks at Marjon, with sessions scheduled by age group across three evenings both weeks.

🏀 Monday 15th and 22nd June
U12 Boys - 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Girls (All Ages) - 6:30pm - 8:00pm

🏀Tuesday 16th and 23rd June
U14 Boys - 6:00pm - 7:30pm
U18 Boys - 7:30pm - 9:00pm

🏀Wednesday 17th and 24th June
U16 Boys - 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Players need to be at both sessions to get maximum exposure. Squad placements will be decided once the trials are over.

Both returning and new players are welcome to try out.

We’re delighted to announce our Girls Head Coaches for the 2026/27 season at Plymouth Patriots Basketball Club.

Building on the fantastic progress and success of our girls programme last season, we’re excited to have Ben Masters leading our U12 Girls and Craig Baker taking charge of our U14 and U16 Girls teams.

Both coaches bring a huge passion for player development and share our commitment to creating a positive, supportive environment where girls can grow in confidence, develop their skills and enjoy their basketball.

With the girls programme continuing to go from strength to strength we’re looking forward to another exciting season ahead and can’t wait to see what these teams can achieve.
