Looking for a sport where your child can thrive, build confidence, and make lifelong friends? 🏉✨

At Plymouth Argaum RFC, rugby is about so much more than the scoreboard. We focus on developing every child's physical abilities in a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

Here is what makes the Argaum family different:

Guaranteed Game Time: No A-teams, no B-teams, and no bench-warming. Every child gets equal pitch time and equal coaching.

Teamwork Over Stardom: Every player has an essential role. True success comes from working together, not just relying on standout stars.

Character Before Winning: We prioritize individual growth, sportsmanship, and confidence over "winning at all costs."

We have space now in our Rugby family for children from Foundation/Reception Age up to Year 11.

Win or lose, we are one club, one community, one roar! 🦁

Looking for something different for your child this September? 🏉

At, Plymouth Argaum RFC, based in Roborough on the edge of Dartmoor, our Minis (U4s - U9s) & Juniors (U10s - U15s) are recruiting now. No rugby experience is needed.

Rugby offers something a little different to many other sports. It’s competitive, physical and exciting, but it’s also built around the values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship — TREDS.

For young players, that means building confidence, making friends, learning resilience and becoming part of a team and a club community.

We’re holding an Open Training Session on 20th September for families who’d like to come along, meet the coaches and give rugby a try.

Come and see what Plymouth Argaum is all about.

📩 Drop us a message for more information.

Recognition for our U15s coaches at National Level! 💥 🏅 🏆

Barry and Sean started coaching at OPM before the team moved to Plymouth Albion. Unfortunately the development of the facilities at Albion wasn't happening quickly enough and going into a season where a full pitch was required we needed a new home. Argaum welcomed us with open arms but sadly the disruption meant a number of players left to either join school mates in other clubs or to ensure they were able to play. This meant they arrived at Argaum with eight players and a lot of anxiety.

Through the course of the season they were extremely fortunate and recruited players, coaches, first aiders and a referee. From eight players and two coaches the team grew to 24 players, 5 coaches, 3 first aiders, a team manager, a social committee and not one but two qualified referees.

A significant part of this growth was making sure sessions were always enjoyable and always had a planned progression for the players. Both of them haf done the England Rugby Coaching Award the season before and employed the learning from that in creating sessions that used the whole of APES. As a result those players we had invited friends who came along, stayed and invited more friends. More coaches meant the players were getting more attention and different perspectives offering something for everyone.

The team manager deserves a special mention as he was key in developing a sense of community that went beyond the pitch and helped create bonds with the players and parents that were not just about playing or watching rugby.

All of this was made possible by Plymouth Argaum with a family of supporters that helped out however they could every step of the way.

U13 player Freddie is running the South Coast Ultra for his Argaum team! 🏃

Our U13’s player, Freddie has been doing lots of training for his next challenge, running the South Cost 57k Ultra.

Freddie recently completed the 42k Jurassic Ultra in May, coming 1st in his age group and 28th overall (at 12 years old).

Freddie has decided to run to raise funds for his U13s Plymouth Argaum team for this run, ahead of the season ahead.

Freddie and the team would be very grateful for any support and sponsorship he can get, here is the link for any spare pennies you have!

Ready to swap screen time for real team spirit this school year? 🏉✨

Give your kids a sport that builds character on and off the pitch! Rugby isn’t just about fitness—it’s a ultimate confidence booster built around respect, discipline, and community.

Why choose rugby over football?
Equal Play & Purpose: Rugby values every body type, size, and skill level. Every player has a vital role on the field, ensuring no one gets left on the bench.

Core Values & Respect: Referee decisions are absolute. Respect for teammates, opponents, and officials is non-negotiable—teaching lessons that stick for life.

True Teamwork over Individual Drama: No diving, no theatrical complaints, and no single-star mentality. Victory and defeat are shared strictly as a team.

Positive Pitchside Culture: Enjoy a supportive, family-friendly sideline atmosphere where encouragement always comes first.

Give them a sport that builds strong bodies, sharp minds, and lifelong friendships. Bring them down for a taster session this term!

Our U13s have made some good use of this glorious weather!

The first was a trip across the border to Cornwall’s Adrenaline Quarry. Once on the water park, the boys were quick to try and stamp their authority on the participating coaches, however, the boys were quick to learn about the coaches superhuman, Thor-like, strengh, and sent the boys into the water on numerous occasions. Maybe next year boys!

Next, we spent the morning at Central Park’s Pitch and putt for the Argaum U13’s Golf Open ⛳️.

A new sport to many, apart from one who rocked up with glove on, golf bag & trolley, like a seasoned pro. It didn’t stop the boys bringing out their competitive edge.

Well done to; Theo, Jacob and Logan S for winning within their groups, to Austin and Luke who, whilst 2nd and 3rd in their group, also came 2nd and joint 3rd respectively overall, and James for squeezing in the top 5!

⛳️ Top 5 overall ⛳️

1st - Theo 50
2nd - Austin 55
3rd - Luke 57 & Jacob K 57
4th - Logan 59
5th - James 61

Always recruiting - for boys just finished year 7, going into year 8. Training starts back up this Sunday, 10am.
