I have some exciting news…. 🥁

I’ll be exhibiting at the Devon Business Show 2026! 🎉

On Wednesday 14 October, Plymouth Life Centre will be filled with businesses, ideas and opportunities to make new connections, and reThink Your Perspective will be there too.

I’ll be sharing Space 111 along the back wall, where I’ll be talking about one of the most common frustrations I hear:

“I just haven’t got enough time.”

But what if time isn’t really the problem? 🤔

Come and see me to discover why time cannot be managed, and how learning to manage your energy, focus and consistency can help you and your team get more done without constantly feeling overwhelmed.

There will also be prizes, freebies and the chance to win a free one-hour coaching session, so make sure you come and say hello!

The Show is free to attend. Book your ticket by searching Devon Business Show! ((Because you won't see this post if I include the link!!))

Ever reacted in the moment and then thought, “Why did I say that?”

We have all been there.

Someone cuts us up.
A message lands badly.
A plan changes.
Someone says something that hits a nerve.

And before we know it, we have snapped, spiralled, overthought, or gone straight into defence mode....

That is REACTING.

🤬 It is fast.
🤬 It is emotional.
🤬 It is often driven by stress, fear, frustration, or feeling under attack.

But RESPONDING gives you a little space.

And sometimes that space starts with something as simple as one deep breath.

That breath gives your brain a chance to pause and ask, “Is this really a threat, or am I just reacting because I am tired, stressed, or overwhelmed?”

You cannot always control what happens around you.

But you can practise choosing how you respond.

That tiny pause can change the whole direction of your day.

What would change if you could clearly see the life you are working towards?

“To bring anything into your life, imagine that it’s already there.”

There is something powerful about mentally stepping into the future you want and seeing it as clearly as you can.

Not because imagining something will magically make it appear.

But because when you can picture what you want, it becomes easier to recognise the choices, habits and actions that belong to that version of your life.

If you can imagine yourself feeling calmer, working with more focus, running the business you want, achieving your goal or finally following through on something important, ask yourself:

"What would that version of me be doing differently today?"

That is where imagination becomes useful.

It gives you somewhere to aim.

Tomorrow’s blog and podcast, “Visualisation for Goals: Does It Really Help?”, will explore how mental rehearsal can improve clarity, confidence and action when you use it in the right way.

👉 Save this post and come back tomorrow to find out how you can put visualisation to work on your own goals.

Do you ever finish the day feeling like you have done nothing… even though you have barely stopped? 🤔🤔

That feeling can be so frustrating....

You look at the list, see all the things still waiting, and suddenly your brain ignores everything you actually managed to do.

✔️ The jobs you finished.
✔️ The decisions you made.
✔️ The messages you answered.
✔️ The little steps you took.
✔️ The things you handled that were not even on the original list.

This is why I love having a GOT DONE list.

Because sometimes we need visible proof that we are making progress.

Not because everything is finished.

Not because the list has magically disappeared.

But because you are allowed to recognise what you *have* done, instead of only beating yourself up for what is still left.

You can only get done what you can get done!

And some days, noticing that is exactly the mindset shift you need.

When you write your to-do list, where do **you** appear on it?

For many of us, the answer is somewhere near the bottom......

🤔 After the work is finished.
🤔 After everyone else has what they need.
🤔 After the emails, housework, appointments, family commitments and endless little jobs have been dealt with.

*Then* we'll look after ourselves.

Except the list never really ends does it? Theres always something else to do....

Putting yourself higher on that list doesn't mean ignoring your responsibilities or spending hours on elaborate self-care routines.

🥪 It might mean taking a proper lunch break.
🚶🏻‍♀️ Going for a walk.
🏋🏻‍♀️ Protecting half an hour to exercise.
😴 Getting enough sleep.
🍵 Sitting down with a cup of tea without trying to complete three other jobs at the same time.

Because you are the person trying to do everything else on that list.

If you constantly put your own energy and wellbeing last, eventually everything becomes harder.

You don't have to earn the right to look after yourself by finishing everything else first.

So, look at your plans for this week and ask yourself: "where have I actually put me?"

💬💬 Choose one thing you can do this week to move yourself a little higher up your own list, and let me know what it is in the comments to inspire others. 👇

🚨🚨 Stop managing time!!

Start managing these three things instead. 💪🏻

If you are tired, overwhelmed, distracted, and running on empty, another colour-coded calendar probably is not going to fix the problem.

Because time is not really the thing you are managing.

⚡ Your energy matters.
🔎 Your focus matters.
✔️ Your consistency matters.

If your energy is low because you have not rested, everything feels harder.

If your focus is being pulled in ten directions by messages, notifications, and interruptions, you cannot give anything your best attention.

And if you keep stopping, starting, crashing, and restarting, it becomes very difficult to build momentum.

Time works better when you work better.

✖️ Not by pushing harder.

But by learning how to protect your energy, direct your focus, and build consistency in a way that actually fits your life. 💪🏻
