Ker Street FC - Sundays

With council pitches OOB this weekend, eyes will turn to games on 3G’s and private pitches but few have the appeal of this cracker!

The two teams met a three times last season with Fords dumping Ker out of two cups but Ker got sweet revenge when it mattered, winning the Ken Rickard Cup Final against them.

Previous games have had it all……… goals, cards, banter and even some quality football and we expect nothing different from this one!

Ker are still light on numbers with quite a few lads missing, most notably Safe Hands who is recovering from a recent op to shorten his 4skin!

Tough Meat misses out due to an oversized ballsac injury, Uncle Biggers is away with this weeks Mrs, Lloydy Laaa is still in the cells after robbing someone’s shoe laces and The Blogger has a back injury from carrying his brother all week at work!

The Rascal is probably missing, at this point we’ve forgotten what he even looks like and Mr Good Looking has had a reaction to his monjaro jabs so misses out!

Ker are able to include new signing, Ginger Giggsy and Male Model has promised to make it two games in a row 👀

The Masked Singer is also included and will be buzzing to be back amongst it while The Enforcer returns from his FA imposed holiday!

A very frustrating day for the lads as they didn’t play particularly badly, it just didn’t quite click for them!

They did well to pull themselves back to 1-1 but a couple lapses of concentration, some strange decisions and some questionable offsides, cost us.

The lads knew every game was gunna be a battle in this league and today proved it, Ker came up against and experienced and well drilled Prem outfit and it’s no surprise Hooe have finished top 3 for the last few seasons.

We’d like to thank them for cleaning the changing rooms after the game but despite a brush and dustpan being provided, they obviously don’t know how to use it 👀🤣

They did however spend a few quid at the bar and were genuinely top lads so we’ll wish them well going forward!

Some big performances today from a few lads…….. The Bookworm⁩ didn’t stop running, chasing dead balls and pressing their defence!

The Engine⁩ was unbelievable, recycling the ball and winning tackles throughout!

And The Blogger⁩ was superb until he picked up a knock and added to his tally with a fantastic assist today.

But we opted for The Magician⁩ who showed just how much he’s improved the physical element of his game.

He won every personal battle, hit big tackles and his defensive support was top tier!

A VERY good performance from our young star today! 👏🏻

It doesn’t happen often but today Skipper⁩ was our DotD!

We had a few contenders but an OG is always gunna win you the award!

It was a lucky let off for Tough Meat⁩ who gave away a pen but tbf, he had to make the tackle so we gave him credit for that!

Unlucky Skip, cant imagine he’ll be in the mix often but today he’s the Dick 🫣🤣

The Ker lads will need to dust themselves off and go again in the next one! 💙❤️

The lads are looking forward to their first Home game of the season and it’s an absolute cracker of a fixture against Hooe Rovers!

The Gaffer is without a few players, most notably the suspended Enforcer, Marquee Signing and Mr Sleepy.

They also miss Lloydy Laaa (on the rob in Scotland), Blue Eyed Boy (searching for Alfie), Mr Good Looking (AWOL) and Man Mountain (poorly toe) whilst Rock Solid and Mr Experienced are on a romantic getaway.

The Gaffer is able to recall Goal Machine and we all know the quality he brings!

There is also a recall for Tough Meat who missed the last couple of games due a virginity problem and The Blogger will be hoping to add to his opening day goal tally!

There’s also rumours of Male Model making an appearance this week but we’ll wait and see 👀

A tough game for Ker but with a strong squad and a good opening day result, the lads will be ready! 💙❤️

Next set of fixtures is out and Ker have some BIG games coming up!

This Sunday the lads take on an experienced Prem side in Hooe Rovers.

The only meeting between the clubs ended in a 1-0 win for Ker so expect a right affair that could go either way!

The 14th is Devon Cup weekend and Ker have no fixture due to getting a bye in the first round.

The following week see’s Ker travel to our ‘friendly rivals’ over at Harbertonford and with previous meetings always delivering a spectacle, expect nothing different from this one!

The final fixture for September is against another experienced Prem side in Billacombe 1st who have recently changed names from Anchorage.

Historically games between the two sides have been great entertainment and the same will be expected from this one!

Our final game in this round of fixtures see’s us take on Prem stalwarts, FC Porto!

Porto are a team Ker have yet to beat, albeit with only one previous meeting between the sides to go on, Ker will want to change that!

After a summer of off the pitch turmoil, the Ker lads got off to a cracking start with win against a very tidy Estover team!

Despite going a goal down early, after some sloppy defending allowed the Stags forward to tap in, Ker always looked as though they’d go on to win the game.

A second half of pure class led to a comfortable 3-1 win for Ker with The Blogger grabbing a brace and Uncle Biggers opening the scoring from the spot.

MoM was a near impossible call today 🫣🤦🏻‍♂️

Quick Hands made some unbelievable saves to keep us in the game and also got involved in the goals with a quality assist!!

The Engine⁩, The Magician⁩ and Blue Eyed Boy ⁩absolutely bossed the midfield in the 2nd half and any one could have got the nod but we’ve opted for Glass Ankles!

Returning from a season out, Mike has quickly jumped back in and is back to his best already!

His overlaps today were impossible for the opponents to cope with and the lad absolutely loves a tackle!

It’s good to have him back!! 💙❤️

So last Sunday a few of our lads took part in a charity kickabout in memory of Steve Pook.

It was NOT an official game and the whole day was to raise awareness and money while having fun!

It involved a small kickabout where a number of children joined in at the end……… all the children were either children of the players or related to Steve’s family.

It was a BRILLIANT day!

Imagine our surprise when The Gaffer got in touch and sent us this!!

Some vile, nasty, vindictive and horrible person has reported us to Devon FA and we have now been charged with ‘Failure to comply with FA rules’ (playing a fixture with children U18 involved).

The worst thing of all is, no contact was made by the nasty little grass and it’s VERY clear this was a memorial game!

Some absolutely disgusting people involved in local football! 🤬

(edit: we’ve redacted the name of the person who reported us as the club don’t need more charges but we’re sure The Gaffer will happily tell anyone who it was if people want to message him)

Here we go!! Preparations have finished and it’s time for the show to begin!

Ker embark on their maiden season in the Sunday Prem and face off against fellow new boys, Estover Utd.

The Gaffer is without a number of players for the clash, most notably club top scorer Goal Machine who is being held hostage by Mickey Mouse.

Big Lanky, Tough Meat and Rock Solid are all in foreign countries on scouting missions!

The Enforcer and Marquee Signing serve suspensions picked up last season while Glass Ankles, Mr Good Looking and Lloydy Laaa all miss the game due to work commitments.

Ker are able to hand debuts to a number of summer signings including Man Mountain, The Engine, Shaggy, Male Model and Mr Experienced and they will all hope to continue their fine pre-season form.

They also welcome back The Dribbler after he finally finished the bathroom refurb and The Rascal who’s basically been AWOL for the while of August!

The lads cant wait to get going so pop along and offer your support 💙❤️

As the season nears, it’s time to take a look at the people who make it all possible……… our FANTASTIC sponsors! 💙❤️

Connor and the lads answered our call for a new Home Kit sponsor and the lads will proudly wear his logo on the new kits.

With a fantastic memorial game yesterday, Ker have to wait an extra week to kick off their season!

Our opening game see’s the lads face off against familiar opponents in Estover United.

The two sides met recently in a pre-season game and Ker had the upper hand, winning 2 nil but everyone knows friendlies mean nothing!

Ker have had a good summer and go in to the season confident and with some excellent additions to the squad! 💙❤️
