Our new Coaching Programme will start on Monday 6th January 2025 and will be led by Top Bounce, our new coaching provider. Details of all sessions, fees and locations can be found on the Coaching tab on the club’s website.

Important reminder!

Lockington Court 4 Vegetation Chopping from 12.30 pm Sat 3rd August. Please bring muscles and any heavy duty tools you have. Burgers, hot dogs and soft drinks for sale and there may be a bit of social tennis too!

Just a reminder that the Plymouth Junior Closed Tournament will be played at the Lockington Avenue courts from 9am on Saturday 27th July. Spectators are welcome, there will be refreshments for sale and the weather forecast is excellent!

Please note the Plymouth Open will be played primarily at the Devonshire this year but we will still retain the mini competitions (red/orange/green) at the Hill Lane site to be held on Sunday 21st July

The level will be reasonably high (possibly some county players) so as a rule of thumb most suitable for those that have previously confidently competed in the monthly mini comps or equivalent and for adventurous yellow ball players those that have been playing in Div 1 or 2 of the junior league that are not afraid of testing themselves against tough competition.

Remember there is also the Plymouth Closed held on Saturday 27th July @ Lockington that is a more local tournament def suitable for Div 1 or 2 league players (14 U and 18U singles only)

The draw for the Adult Summer Club Tournament has been published today on Hill Lane Friends and Lockington Lobbers WhatsApp groups. A paper copy will be on the Lockington clubhouse notice board and will also be sent by email to members.

Club Tournament : Ray Huntley emailed details to all members on 4th June. The competition is open to all adult members, sixth form juniors and 15 year old juniors who have played in the 2024 Adult P&D summer league. There will be Men's and Ladies' Singles/doubles and Mixed Doubles. The closing date for entries and payment of entry fees is 23rd June. This year all pre-finals rounds must be completed before the end of August. Ray will advise the finals day for the end of August or the beginning of September.

Polling station at Lockington Clubhouse: 7am to 10pm on 4th July. There will be no access to the clubhouse during these times but courts can be accessed as normal, bring your own balls please.

GOOD NEWS!
Although the senior part of the Plymouth Junior Open (10 years over) is moving to the Devonshire this year, Hill Lane will be running the under 10 boys’ and girls’ singles at the Hill Lane site on 21st July.

We will also be running the Plymouth Junior Closed competition, using the Lockington Courts on 27th July.

Details will follow in due course. Get practising!😉

The Great Hill Lane tidy up day at the junior club site, message from Alec Rickard.

Let's get Hill Lane looking ship shape as it's not only pirate day soon, but the local summer league and competition season has started.

Parents and players of all ages, please join us on Saturday 11th May to help with some tidying up of the Hill Lane site. Weeding, pruning and maybe some painting are needed outside whilst there will also be clearing and cleaning in the clubhouse. We will start whilst the junior coaching sessions are running and then there will be opportunities to continue after, but whatever time you can give will be welcome.

Drinks and snacks provided for the workers!
