A glorious late summer Ramble yesterday. Wall to wall sunshine, beautiful views, a calm sea for a swim, hills to roll down, ice cream and a few climbs so you know you've had a good walk! Sorry some couldn't make it but thanks to those who came along. See you at the change of the season.

Weather looking fine for Saturday and the sea's still warm if you fancy a dip! Will be just over 5 miles. One steady field climb leading to 10 min steep final woodland path up to Maker Church from Milbrook road but otherwise downhill or fairly flat coastpaths. Tide will be in at Sandways but still the best place for packed lunch stop. Swims and rock exploring still possible and two further beach stops on return route. If you don't fancy the steepish climb , walking up to the estate to meet us at the church is a shorter alternative . Can be decided on the day. Ice creams etc back at Cremyll . See you at admiral's Hard for 9.45 ferry or at Cremyll.

Seems a very long time since our last Family Walk and had to give August a miss sadly but can now post our next walk on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH . Catch the 9.45 Cremyll Ferry{ now back at Admirals Hard} for a walk around the coast via Empacombe ,then a climb up to Maker Church to drop back to the coastpath and along to Sandways beach for picnic lunch and play/swim before returning along the coastpath back to Cremyll for icecream and cake!
Looking forward to seeing anyone who can make it.

Perfect walking weather for our latest coastpath Family Walk visiting three beaches for swimming, fishing, exploring and eating lots of icecream before returning through fields woods and paths from Polkeris Harbour following the Saints Way. A nice train ride home to recover! There will be another coast walk in August. Details tbc.

DATE CHANGE. Our next walk will now be on SATURDAY JULY 4TH when we'll be catching the 9.45 Penzance train from Plymouth to Par to walk down to the beach through parks and paths and follow the coastpath to Polkeris harbour via another beach for swims, paddles and exploring before following the Saints Way back through lanes and fields and Par sand dunes back to the station . Trains home at 2.52 and 3.24. £13 60/6.80 and 1/3 off with railcard or group save. Pizza, pasties chips etc at Polkeris lunch stop and more cafes at Par and en route back to station. 5 miles in total, one step climb on the coastpath and a zigzag climb out of Polkeris. Dogs not allowed on Polkeris beach but all others OK. Plenty of space by cafe, pub etc for dogs at Polkeris. Possible to drive and park at Par Sands to meet by bird lake @11.00. Let us know if you plan to join us for another fun fuelled coastpath ramble!

Sunshine, 2 beaches, rock pooling, swims, chips ,icecream, great company and a 5 mile beautiful coastal loop from Mount Edgcumbe to Sandways, Kingsand , Maker Heights and back. Perfect day out. Thanks to the 15 who came along . Here's to more glorious Summer family Walks.

Just back from a sunny recce of Saturday's coastal walk. Weather looks great for beach visits and tides are right for swims at Sandways or Kingsand. Plenty of shade too along the Mount Edgcumbe coastpath. We'll have longish stops at Sandways and Kingsand to allow time for beach exploring, picnics and pasties, icecream , drinks etc. If anyone is desperate for chips there will be time to take the short walk to Cawsand and back ,but we won't need to walk along otherwise.
Let us know if you want to take the 10.15 ferry and meet us in front of Edgcumbe House otherwise see you in front of Maker Church at 10.30.

Our next Family walk will be Saturday June 13th when we'll be taking to the Coastpath for serious beach action at Sandways and Kingsand /Cawsand. Meet at Maker Church @ 10.30 to walk along the coast via two beaches for swims/paddles/icecream /packed lunch or pasties and lots of time to splash and/or explore. Climbing to the higher path after lunch via the redoubt and back through lanes and fields to the church. 5 miles of relatively easy walking apart from the climb out of Cawsand Bay. If you prefer not to drive you can hop on the 10.15 Cremyll Ferry and meet us outside Mount Edgcumbe House around 10.50. Let us know nearer the day if you'll be at the church or Mnt E house. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

A bit of a wet Family Walk yesterday but the weather certainly didn't dampen the spirits of the 16 intrepid adventurers who came along with me to climb Tors, visit a Stone Row, explore caves and ford streams . Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun. Our next outing will be a coastal walk on June 13th. See you there

Just back from a fab recce of next Saturday's walk! Meet at Norsworthy Bridge Car Park @ 10.30 A steady climb up to Down Tor to start but we can take out time . Down to the Stone Row and cairn then across to Cuckoo Rock where I actually heard a Cuckoo today! Found an easy path down to visit our first cave and an easy stream crossing to visit the second but anyone wishing to omit this one can wait for us by the river! Back along Narrator Brook for paddles en route.
