To watch the horrors unfold in the Ukraine from afar can be distressing. But there are things we can do to help those displaced by the crisis, we can avoid spreading disinformation, and to encourage our government to take meaningful action. The Women’s Federation for World Peace has created a fundraiser for those looking to help displaced Ukrainian refugees get a headstart in their new home. Sunflower of Peace is raising money to create medical backpacks for doctors and paramedics on the frontlines. Project CURE and UA Hospitals are raising funds to send containers of supplies into Ukrainian hospitals. United Help is focused on securing medical supplies, humanitarian aid and supporting wounded soldiers and civilians. The Czech organisation People in Need is fundraising for those on the ground, providing them with food and medical packages. Nova Ukraine is providing humanitarian aid to those in the country too.

The thrill of diving – or just dipping a toe – into open water can bring you joy, confidence, adventure and friendship. You don’t need a lot of kit or a membership plan; outdoor swimming really is for everybody.
“Wild swimming” is growing in popularity, with research from Sport England confirming a tidal surge of people taking to the country’s lochs, lakes, rivers and seas.
The easing of lockdown restrictions has injected a further boost, with wild swimming in lakes, rivers and coastal waters permitted from 13 May. And with public swimming pools having only reopened on 25 July, more people have sought and found safe spots to swim outdoors after weeks of being confined to the home.
What I witness, is joy and connection, women, mostly, laughing and sharing their experiences, enjoying each others company creating community.
I would love to hear any stories of yours that you have shared in the sea or lake. The funnier the better!

Determination is an essential part of success. Though determination can be a positive and powerful motivator, continuing to feel determined can be incredibly difficult when we encounter obstacles and setbacks. I know I constantly struggle with this and have done all my life.From losing weight to quitting smoking, it takes an incredible amount of determination to achieve the goals we set for ourselves.
Determination is what motivates us to improve ourselves, make positive changes in our lives, and increases our chances of success. It enables us to build dreams, live healthier lives, and strengthen our relationships with others.
Determination inspires us to dream bigger and achieve more for ourselves. When we adopt hard-working, successful people as a role models, we fuel our own determination and stay inspired to create new goals.
Dream Big, Start Small, and Act Now
This is a very powerful principle if you are struggling with motivation and feel overwhelmed. When you dream, you have to dream big so that your dream can inspire you. However, when you start, you have to start small because you want to make it into a habit so that you will automatically take action consistently every day.
When your motivation is gone, start small. You want to build up the momentum from there. Once you start to take action, the motivation will come, and you will be able to continue to do more.
Take baby steps, and gradually increase from there on. For example, if you want to exercise and work out five days a week, try to schedule it and start small.
