I seem to have picked up a few new followers so hello, welcome and here’s why you might be here…
I’m a swim teacher and coach. I’ve taught for 16 years, it’s literally the thing that sparks the most joy in my life and I love sharing that with anyone who wants to learn. I work for a feeder swim school into Plymouth Leander swimming club and I also run my own adult swim school.
I particularly love teaching adults because I think it takes some serious courage to start a new skill in the adult era, especially one that encompasses a different environment. Like, if we were meant to breathe underwater we’d have gills, right!? Learning how to fine tune this skill later in life is so much fun and I love the process of working with people:. I don’t care if you can’t swim, can swim, if you want to swim, I want to help you.
I love teaching the kids too, I think it’s one of the most important life skills to can arm a kid with, especially being that we’re next to the coast!
I also run spin classes and a run club. I’m one of those slightly strange triathlon people and I nerd out on bikes, the fourth discipline and marginal gains. Again though, I’m a big fan of everyone doing something more than nothing. That age old saying of if you’re doing it, you’re lapping everyone on the couch is a favourite. It doesn’t matter how fast you are as long as you’re working on you.
Back to the marginal gains though, I offer bike fit services, because I’m a nerd and I love to make cycling more comfortable and easier/faster!
I also train to compete and love to show what I’m up to so that it might inspire you to try something outside your norm, I’m coached and value the expertise that is offered from someone with a specific skill set. (I’ve listed a bit of mine above… casual plug!)
I also study at uni - I’m an immature mature student and wouldn’t have it any other way so I’m kept particularly busy with the curricular work alongside my lil business and my own personal fitness goals.
