Pitlochry Boating Station A perfect base for fishing in Pitlochry Pitlochry Boating Station is set on the picturesque shores of Loch Faskally.

Loch Faskally gets on average 5500 salmon passing through its waters each year, which makes it a fantastic loch for salmon fishing. We also have a good head of brown trout, pike and perch which makes us suitable for just about every type of fisherman, i.e coarse fishing or game fishing. In total we have 17 fishing boats ranging from 12ft - 15ft long all of which can be supplied with 4 Hp outboard

motors and fishing rod holders. At Pitlochry Boating Station you can also hire fishing rods and tackle from our small fishing tackle counter. Fishermen, tourists and walkers can also take full advantage of the Loch Side Café with its fabulous views, delicious home cooking and baking.

Last night was a real heartbreaker. After playing a huge salmon for around 25 minutes and finally getting it close to the net, my rod snapped and the fish disappeared back into the depths.

I’ve been moping about it ever since! Thankfully, Jayne finally let me head out for an hour this afternoon, and I managed to get this beauty into the net.

It’s not the fish I lost, but it has certainly put a smile back on my face. 🎣😀

That’s fishing—one moment heartbreak, the next pure joy.
