Our wild camping top tips:
🗺️ Research - Try to get a good idea of where you want to walk to and if there is anyone who has wild camped in the area before. You can often find sites or forums where people will discuss tips and best practices for camping in a specific area
🌤️ Weather - Make sure you have checked the weather forecast during your trip. Pack all of the essentials for whatever weather you’ll be facing (and even if it isn’t forecast rain, we always take waterproofs just to be careful!)
🏕️ Discretion - We’ve found it best to pitch up during the evening and pack up first thing in morning. It keeps your stay discrete, you’re less likely to damage the environment, and the views will make the early morning start worth it!
❌ Leave no trace - A VERY important thing to remember. Leave a space exactly as you came across it, untouched. Take all litter home and do not have a fire or BBQ on unprotected land.
🎒 Kit - Make sure you have double checked everything you will be taking with you. Ensure any torches are charged, first aid kits are fully stocked and your tent isn’t damaged.
💦 Supplies - It is important to take as much water with you, especially if you are going for hikes in between camping. Pack plenty of nutritional snacks, a meal or two if you wish, and some treats for those well-needed sugar boosts!
