Wow! This little girl and the family and friends she has around her are incredible.
If you haven’t met her yet, this is Missy. And her story so far is hugely inspirational.
The doctors told her family that she would never walk unassisted... A few weeks ago she took her first unassisted steps.
Missy can now plank for nearly a minute and a half. More than the average adult in the UK can do!
Missy and her parents have had multiple barriers and naysayers to get around, and they are doing an incredible job.
I wanted to share this because every time I see missy hitting a PB in the gym it brings a huge smile to my face.
But what’s easy to forget is that everyone who hits a goal, has had to go through some, or often a lot of hardship and struggle to get there.
And after meeting missy and her family there were a few things I took away that I thought would help you guys with your training goals and maybe even life in general (I say this because it’s helped me).
1) Ignore the naysayers
2) Surround yourself with people that believe in you, build you up, but will also give you honest feedback where needed. (For missy this was from her coach )
3) Keep it fun as often as possible otherwise you wont to do it! Again this came from her training with .
And to finalise...
You never know what impact your actions will have.
We simply loved Missy’s story and sent her a surprise t-shirt, when I (Jack) met her, we chatted and took a photo. And I was then informed the next day she was telling everyone she met me. like I’m some kind of celeb everyone should know 😂.
Moral of the story. Be kind and don’t let anybody put you in a box and limit you.
If Missy and her family can defy the odds against Cerebral Palsy, Then you can do anything you put your mind to.
You never know who’s watching or what impact your actions will have guys 😃.
Everyone’s a Hero to someone 🦸🏻♂️🦸🏻♀️
So next time you are faced with a challenge. Ask yourself, what would Missy do?
F**k your limits.
Don’t let others tell you your boundaries, capabilities and keep you in a box.
