How we started!

Dad (Malcolm Henderson) and a really good friend started the club 30 years ago and gradually with the help of friends the club grew, expanded and improved. Dad took over the shoot completely after the sad loss of his friend to cancer and from then on, pretty much every member of the family has helped out in one way or another. Over the last couple of years Dad has taken a back seat and myself (his daughter Sue Daunt) and my husband (Darren Daunt) have taken over the reins. We are really lucky to be able still get advice from Dad when we need to and we have an amazing bunch of friends and family that help us run the shoot. Were committed to our shoot being as friendly as possible that provides shooting for all abilities, great food and great training. Sue Daunt.

We're OPEN Tomorrow!
Come and join us for another great Sunday of clay shooting.
We'll be open from 9am for breakfast and refreshments with shooting from 10am until 2pm.
Just a little note for your diaries - we will unfortunately be CLOSED for our next shoot on Sunday 27th September. So if your planning a shoot, tomorrow is the day!

Laughton & District ploughing match coming up on Wednesday 16th September at Houndean Field, Brighton Road, Lewes. Open to general public from 9am. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Graham Bishop, one of our very long standing members who passed away very suddenly recently.
Graham had faced many medical problems over recent years, but he never complained. Just when we thought he might not be able to shoot again, he would battle back and surprise us all. His love of shooting and the group of friends he shared it with, meant so much to him.

Hannah, one of his fellow shooters, said it perfectly:
"Little Graham, as I affectionately called him, was always the life and soul with his contagious smile and mischievousness. I referred to him as my 'Norman Wisdom' - it always made him chuckle. A huge hole has been left in our shooting family, one that will never be filled. Graham overcame so much over the recent years and to be taken so suddenly is a loss we will all feel for many years to come. He has left us with nothing but happy memories and a lifetime of smiles."

We think Hannah has spoken for all of us.

Graham, you will be very sadly missed, but remembered with so many happy memories and smiles.
Our thoughts are with Graham's family and loved ones at this very difficult time.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us today, we really do appreciate it.
🔎A little lost and found! Its looks like someone may have accidentally taken home the wrong Chris Potter gun slip. The one you have should have chokes and a hex tool in the zipped pocket. Please could you have a quick check and if you think you may have picked up the wrong one, send us a message so we can arrange a swap. 🙏
We've also found a hex tool on the picnic tables outside - if you've lost one, drop us a message and we can reunite you with it!
Well done to everyone who shot today, lots of great scores.

It was wonderful to see a great turnout and so much support from both our regulars and new faces, thank you.
Steph and Steve were kept busy with their introduction to clay shooting lessons, helping more people discover just how enjoyable the sport can be. Its always great to welcome newcomers to the shooting community and a special mention to Angie it was so lovely to have her back in the kitchen again, keeping everyone fueled with plenty of refreshments. You were definitely missed! Our next shoot is Sunday 16th August.
