πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ Sunday Club Ride Recap! πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

What a brilliant morning out on the Sussex lanes! At 8 AM, 18 riders gathered at Kontour Cycles in Polegate, ready to get some solid miles in.

We split into two squads heading out to Bodiamβ€”one taking a 62-mile route and the other tackling a 51-mile loop, riding in opposite directions (one clockwise, the other anti-clockwise).

A huge welcome to the non-member who joined the short group for a taster ride today! The two groups ended up crossing paths in Bodiam, and it was fantastic to see our guest rider still smiling and going strong with the pack. πŸ’ͺ

The Stats & The Stops:

Short Group: Kept things smooth and civilised with a 16 mph average.

Long Group: Put the hammer down and held a rapid 20 mph pace!

The original plan for both groups was a well-earned coffee stop at The Hub Cafe in Bodiam. Unfortunately, a massive Lotus 7 car meetup meant the queue was literally out the door! πŸŽοΈβ˜• Not wanting to wait, the long route group pivoted and pushed on to Eggs to Apples farm shop in Etchingham to finally secure their caffeine and cake fix.

Great riding, excellent company, and another fantastic Sunday in the saddle. See you all next week!

What a fantastic morning for our Thursday Social! β˜€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

We rolled out from Kontour Cycles in Polegate for a brilliant, leisurely spin. The relaxed pace was absolutely perfect for enjoying the Sussex lanes, having a good natter, and catching up with everyone.

Naturally, the highlight of the morning was our cafΓ© stop! β˜•οΈπŸ° We pulled into Offham Farm Shop for some excellent coffee and well-earned treats before heading back.

Want to join us next time?
If you fancy coming along, we’d love to have you! Just turn up at Kontour Cycles in Polegate any Thursday for about 9:20am (ready for a 9:30am start).

We typically do a scenic 40-mile loop at a friendly, social pace, heading out towards either Lewes, Uckfield, or Hastings. It's a fantastic group and the perfect way to spend a Thursday morning on the bike.

London to the Coast: Gravel Edition! Landscape format πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨ Who needs coffee when you can just set your alarm at the crack of dawn and ride 120km on gravel bikes? πŸ˜‚ 5 brave (or crazy?) Eastbourne Rovers did just that, ditching city streets for dirt roads and trading traffic jams for...well, cow jams? πŸ„ Catching the first train to Clapham Junction, they followed Paul H-H's genius route through Richmond Park, Weybridge, and Shere, before hitting the Downs Link to Hove and Brighton. The trails? Smooth, with just enough techy bits to keep things interesting! β˜€οΈ Perfect summer weather and two cafe stops later, they rolled into Brighton with huge grins on their faces. Kudos to the crew for an epic day out! πŸ‘

London to the Coast: Gravel Edition! πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨
What a brilliant day out for 5 Eastbourne Rovers who set their alarms bright and early this morning! Catching the very first train into Clapham Junction, the group traded the city pavement for off-road dirt, riding all the way back to the Sussex coast on gravel bikes.
A massive shoutout to Paul H-H for devising an absolute gem of a route. The 100km+ journey wove through the stunning scenery of Richmond Park, Weybridge, and picturesque Shere, before connecting onto the classic Downs Link to roll into Hove and Brighton.
The verdict on the trails? Fantastic smooth gravel with just enough technical sections to keep everyone on their toes! Paired with perfect summer weather and two well-earned cafe stops for refueling, it made for an unforgettable day in the saddle.
Great riding, everyoneβ€”way to represent the club! πŸ‘

24/07/2026

β˜€οΈ What a glorious morning for our Thursday Social Ride! We bumped the start time up to 8:30 AM to make the most of the absolutely perfect weather, rolling out from Kontour Cycles in Polegate.

β˜• A fantastic group of 13 Rovers tackled the 40-mile route, settling into a great rhythm before a well-earned coffee stop at The Forge in Ringmer. Great miles and even better company!

πŸ’₯ There was a bit of mid-ride drama near Arlington when Ian’s rear tyre literally exploded! After some speedy roadside mechanics, our group thinned out to 12 as Ian made a solo breakaway to Berwick Railway Station. We hope the train ride was a bit smoother than the tyre, Ian! πŸš‚

🚲 Another brilliant club run in the books. See you all on the next one!

πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ Summer evening pedal! β˜€οΈ
Seven Rovers gathered at Stone Cross Memorial Hall at 6:30pm, ready to take full advantage of the beautiful, balmy weather.
We headed out on a lovely 30km loop, spinning up towards Herstmonceux and enjoying some fantastic East Sussex country lanes along the way. Smooth roads, warm air, and great companyβ€”you really couldn't ask for a better evening on two wheels.
To top it off, we wrapped up the ride with a well-earned, refreshing drink at the Red Lion. 🍻
Thanks to everyone who came along! If you're looking to get some midweek miles in with a friendly group, join us same time next week.
