I feel like there should be a leaflet handed out with your first class. A proper one. With side effects listed.
Things like:
⚠️Noticing you've been holding your shoulders up by your ears for the last 20 years.
⚠️ May result in realising how tight your hips actually are
⚠️ Can cause unexpected improvement in sleep quality
⚠️ Side effects include standing taller and strangers asking what you've changed
⚠️ Some students report feeling things in muscles they'd completely forgotten about
⚠️ Warning: you may start looking forward to it
In all seriousness — Pilates has a funny way of quietly improving things you didn't even know needed improving.
I've been teaching for years and I still love the moment a student says "I didn't expect that."
