Steep Cricket Club has been in existence for over 100 years, but we believe that a match between Steep and another local side took place in the 1830s. In recent times Steep has run two sides in the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturdays as well as a 'friendly' side who play on Sundays and a few summer weekday evenings. These 'friendly' games are usually against other local villages, but with the od

d game further afield across the border in Sussex perhaps or further north in Hampshire. We also host one or two 'strolling' sides each summer, who return year after year - we are never sure whether it is that they enjoy playing us, or visiting the Harrow Inn next door! We have recently restarted Junior coaching sessions and enter Under-11 and Under-13 teams in the local leagues. We also particpate in Stoner Cricket Week, an annual event based around former Bedales School students, where Stoner CC play four or five games against local sides. Finally we have entered the National Village Knockout competition on a regular basis and we have had our successes, as you will see in the history section. We have recently reviewed and redrafted our constitution, and it was approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting on April 27th 2011. It can be viewed here. We are also home to Steep Stoolball Club. This is an interesting game played with bats and balls and with runs being scored, but there any resemblance to cricket ends. A charming selection of ladies regularly turn out on summer weekday evenings, their fixtures can be found on their new page here - they would welcome any support you may care to give.
