Peterlee Chess Club welcomes players of all standards, from beginner to master. We play every TUESDAY evening in the large Concert Hall of the Peterlee Catholic Club from 7.30pm onward. We have the whole room to ourselves, its spacious, well lit, heated and serves very reasonably priced ale for those wishing to partake. We're always looking for new players and you're guaranteed a warm welcome from a friendly and knowledgeable group of players in Peterlee. We play every week of the year including Christmas and the New Year when dates are favourable! There is always a game waiting for you at Peterlee. There is also the chance to play league chess against clubs throughout Co Durham.

A little tactical blitz game here (5 minutes each) My idea was from move 34. Nf4 leaving the pawn on e4 hanging. My Night can't be taken as the pawn is pinned by my Queen.
My opponent obliged and took the pawn on e4. This allows 35. Nxe6+ he (or she) had to take back with the pawn. So I play a check on e5 winning the Rook and the game!
Always keep an eye out for tactical possibilities.
