Expect unforgettable coastal scenery, a great challenge, and a genuinely warm Scottish welcome. Situated on the east coast of Scotland, 23 miles north of Aberdeen and only two hours drive from St Andrews, the 'Home of Golf'. Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience, old fashioned links golf at its best, and on one of the best links experiences in Scotland. The original course, on the present site, was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) following the expansion of the railways at the end of the 19th century, designed by Old Tom Morris of St Andrews, and opened in 1899. We are a warm and welcoming club that caters for both members and visiting golfers from across the globe. Our experienced pro shop staff, first class bar and catering staff and the club’s administration team ensures a warm welcome and promises that your day playing golf at Cruden Bay will be one to remember.

Today is Thank a Greenkeeper Day, and we want to give a massive shoutout to the brilliant team keeping Cruden Bay in world-class shape. 🚜 ⛳️

Long before the first group tees off on the 1st, our team is out on the dunes in every kind of coastal weather preparing the greens, fairways, and bunkers. Their hard work early every morning is what keeps our links in superb condition all year round.

Next time you pass one of the greenkeepers out on the course, be sure to give them a nod and say thanks!

Standing on the 1st tee, you are stepping into over a century of links history. ⛳️

First designed by Old Tom Morris and Archie Simpson in 1899, then refined by Tom Simpson and Herbert Fowler in 1926, the layout out on these dunes remains largely untouched today. The same contours, blind shots, and North Sea views that tested players back then are waiting for you now.

A full driving range on a Scottish links course is a rare luxury, and we love seeing it put to good use. ⛳️

From members squeezing in some practice mid week to guests getting their eye in before their round, having the range alongside our huge practice putting green is another great asset we have at the club.

Make sure to give yourself some extra time to roll a few putts and hit a bucket of balls next time you are down!

Battling the elements on the dunes is only part of a day at Cruden Bay. Stepping off the 18th and heading upstairs to sit back with a drink, warm food, and that same coast view from the window completes the visit.

Make sure to take 5 minutes before your round at Cruden Bay to step into our golf museum to soak up the heritage, vintage items, and story of the course before you step up to play. It sets the tone for a true Scottish links experience.

Walking off the bathtub 14th green and making your way up the steps to the 15th tee is always one of the absolute highlights of the round. 😍

Once you reach the top, you are treated to an incredible vantage point looking out toward the iconic Slains Castle in the distance. Take a second to soak in the view before taking aim!
