Mintlaw 2010s kicked off at home in a B league fixture after a disappointing 1 v 1 draw the previous Saturday away to Culter (Codi Summers scoring for the 2010s)
Codi Summers broke free on the right after 5 mins and his pace took him past the defender in to the box and was then upended for a penalty, Zak Rose stepped up and calmly slotted it into the bottom right hand corner to put the home team ahead.
Jackson Cross was positive in the box and his willingness paid off as another penalty was awarded but was saved by the Blackburn keeper.
Blackburn equalised just before HT to end the half 1v1.
Second half kicked off and Mintlaw came out the traps with more intensity, and were rewarded when Codi Summers weaved his way into the box and smashed the ball across goal and it ended up crossing the line in to the back of the net.
The boys went 3 v 1 up after some great play by Oscar Banasinski on the right and Jackson Cross turned it in at the near post for a neat finish.
The home side went 4 up when Oskar Banasinski finished well from outside the box to net his first goal for his new club.
Blackburn pulled one back with minutes to go after some poor defending.
A depleted squad through injuries and suspension with players playing out of position.
MOTM today was one of our keepers Cole Gallagher(SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE), who was asked to play up front today and lead the line superbly, played the way he faced with his back to goal and done superbly at keeping possesion and bringing others into play, he pressed aggressively when he didn’t have the ball and put in a great shift.
