Longthorpe Lawn Tennis Club, established 1950, is a friendly private members club in the heart of the village. Players of all abilities are welcome.

Welcome to Longthorpe Lawn Tennis Club, set in an attractive, quiet location in the village of Longthorpe, providing 4 all weather artificial grass tennis courts, with 2 floodlit courts, a club house and parking. The club currently consists of 100 adult members and 50 junior members. We are an independent and self-financing club. Membership is £150 per year for adults, £69 for juniors and only £15 for Mini Tennis players. We offer club sessions in a relaxed and friendly environment. Saturday and Sunday afternoon mixed club sessions are always well attended throughout the year. There are also Ladies club sessions on week days and mixed club sessions Tuesday and Thursday nights all year round. Junior club sessions are on Saturdays 10-12. As well as our friendly club sessions there is more competitive match play available. We enter Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams in the Hunts and Peterborough League and The Don Brace Cup. We also have a mixed team entered in the Peterborough Hardcourt League. During the Winter we enter teams for the Peterborough Winter League that are played on Sunday mornings. We also run our own Club competition from May to August with a Finals Day in September. This will be for Singles, Ladies, Mens and Mixed Doubles. We welcome junior players (over 10 yrs) and offer 10 free coaching sessions for our junior members at the beginning of the season on Tuesday nights. Juniors have their own designated court time from 4 – 6pm Mondays to Fridays. www.longthorpelawntennisclub.co.uk/coaching-juniors

We have also now extended our membership to younger aspiring tennis players from Reception year upwards with the provision of the LTA Mini Tennis Programmes for Mini Reds (5-6 years), Mini Orange (7-8 years) and Mini Green (8-9 years). These sessions run on Monday evenings from 4pm onwards. We have our own Coaching Team – Inspirational Tennis available for individual or group lessons. We also offer our match players free coaching sessions pre-season in order to hone up on Doubles Tactics. We hold numerous social events throughout the year – quiz, BBQ, dances as well as having fun competitions days for adults and juniors.

Yesterday Andrew Swann, Samuel Brown, Vicky Axe and Lesley Luton travelled to Felixstowe to represent the club in the regional finals of the Road to Wimbledon competition. Vicky and Lesley were runners up after reaching the final. Congratulations to you all! 🎾🎾🎾🌞

It’s been a busy time socially at the club… the Christmas raffle raised £500 for Thorpe Hall hospice followed by a very successful quiz night raising money for club funds. As always a huge thanks to our social secretary Keith M for all his efforts and of course, to everyone who supported these events.
