💫🌸Say hello to the gorgeous Blake - this term's recipients of Martyn's Memorial Swim Space.
Her wonderful mummy, Michelle, shared...
"The day after Blake was born, we were told she had a heart murmur that would need investigating. Roll forward a few months, and we were referred to Great Ormond Street Hospital as Blake had a significant Ventricular Septal Defect which would require open heart surgery to fix. The first 8 months of Blake's life were the most terrifying time of our lives. Not knowing what the outcome would be. After a six-hour surgery in September 2023 at 8 months old, Blake was discharged from Great Ormond Street after 4 days. Even though Blake's heart is fixed, she is still classed as having congenital heart disease and has regular check-ups with her wonderful consultant, and will do for the rest of her life. Before we knew the extent of Blake's heart disease, we were part of the Calmababy family, but sadly had to stop because of Blake's condition. So it's a wonderful full-circle moment that we can come back for another term. Thank you so much to Alison and the team 😊"
