Dear FFZ Players.
Many thanks to all of you that offered kind words on the back of me closing the site.
It means a lot that so many of you enjoyed it as much as you obviously did. I was asked several times
about a last game, Ukara numbers, selling site kit, etc, etc.

I have been quite busy still with site related items since the announcement and have been approached by a few individuals, a few paintball sites, and a few airsoft site operators. The latter approach has always been something for me to consider but at the end of the day the land owners have to have the final say in how their land is used.
After discussions with them, and Josh at Gunman Airsoft, I can now advise you all that the site will continue to run as a Gunman site going forward, so at least those of you that will miss the site ( as I will ) can now at least play there in future.
It will of course mean some changes, as they are at the end of the day, their own successful entity and I am sure will do a fine job of it.

For game date information regarding this and all their sites please check out Gunmanairsoft.co.uk and register with them.
Those of you with current valid FFZ numbers can contact [email protected] and they will re-issue you with a new Gunman number, there is a £10 charge for doing that.
Those of you that have expired numbers will have to drop Gunman a line and see what their process will be, which may well depend on whether you expired in July, or 12 years ago! As you can expect they are not going to renew players we have not seen for 5 years for example.

Hopefully I will see some of you down at the site, and I wish Gunman all the best with it, and hope many of you will still enjoy what that fantastic bit of land has to offer.

Hi Folks,

a very sad day has arrived as I have decided to close the site. The fairly erratic numbers and the amount of work and cost the site takes, with me also getting a bit old and less capable has really seen it as the sensible thing to do, rather than the preferred thing to do! I really am rather sad about it as it has been great fun running all the sites we have had, despite the constant moaning than comes with it! The feeling and sentiment from most of you ( the ones that matter ) has been positive. That positivity is the reason I have done this for so long. I think it has been 25 years, maybe a little longer, in one form or another!

It sounds like just a nice thing to say, but honestly the majority of the players we have seen at FFZ have been good, salt of the earth players, with the right approach and attitude to airsoft. Unfortunately there are just not enough of that type of player anymore. Airsoft has changed over the years, and most of us that attend comment on this from time to time. I am not really keen to become just a cash generating site, it pays it's way of course, it just doesn't pay enough anymore to make it worth the outlay and commitment. Turning 50 this year hasn't helped! It has been a 30 year time span for me, and my bones and various muscles remind me of this a lot!

It has been a pleasure running the sites, the majority of you have made the site what it is, and it has been a pleasure making friends, in some cases good friends with a lot of you. It has also been great fun shooting at you, with you, and alongside most of you. It has sometimes been fun being shot by you also, despite the body language at the time! ( we've all done it! )

Thanks to all ( well most, as we have the odd complete p***s turn up now and then ) for attending over the years. Special thanks to those of you that have helped run the site in one way or another, especially to the guys that have run it alongside me, to those of you that have just helped on the odd build day. It has all been appreciated.

I now have the unenviable task of clearing the site! I expect that will take a year as we have accumulated a lot of stuff there over 15+ years!!

Hopefully I will see some of you at other sites over the coming years, as I still intend to play, just not really sure where or when at the moment!

All the best to those I don't stay in touch with, and it genuinely is a really, really difficult decision to have made. I will miss the site and the regular players very much, I will even miss the stinging nettles a bit to be honest!

Great day on Sunday, hope you all had fun. I did and Mick and I said what a pleasure it was to run with such a decent crowd. Great gameplay, really high standard of conduct also. Bit warm for some of you I expect, and congratulations to Edward for winning the pistol. ( which I forgot ) so there is an E@C G17 on the way to him this week. Hopefully see you all in 2 weeks on the 26th.
