We often see parents watching from the side, mouthing โ€œfocusโ€ or giving that little look or signal to remind their child to listen. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

But focus is a skill โ€” and just like the rest of our curriculum it takes practice!

Thatโ€™s why we take time in our Mighty Matts classes to talk about what focus actually means, why itโ€™s important and help them learn how to stop, reset and bring their attention back.

Itโ€™s not something that can be mentioned once and instantly mastered. Children this age are still learning, so they need frequent reminders, encouragement and plenty of practice. These are skills they can take from the sessions into school, home and everyday life. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‹

Only a couple of weeks into her martial arts journey and this Mighty Matt had the courage to stand in front of the whole class, instructors and parents to demonstrate her hand drill! ๐Ÿ‘

And what a demonstration it was! ๐ŸŒŸ Remembering her hand drill so well after such a short time and performing it with confidence.
