The Golf Club was Founded in 1858 nearby at Perth's South Inch, but relocated to its current home on Moncreiffe Island in 1897, making it one of the oldest surviving Golf Clubs in the UK. Purpose-built, and believed to be the only Inland Island Golf Course in the country, it was designed by 'Old' Tom Morris, the legendary winner of multiple British Open Golf Championships. We are very lucky to have such a group of wonderful kids with super supportive parents. It's amazing the progress they are all making week by week. We had a parent and child fun greensome over 9 short holes yesterday. There were some great scores but the winners were Derek and Jacob with a magnificent 34!!!!! Great to see the longest drive from Hayley who hit the ball so well today . Nearest the pin was won by William with a brilliant shot. Here’s hoping for a dry winter so we can run more junior events!

Yesterday’s semi-final rounds saw some close matches being played down at the island.

Chris Sutton will face George Blackley in the scratch final. Gareth McEwan will compete against Steven Mason in the low handicap final while Fraser Craig will go head-to-head with Alan Moody in the handicap final.

Commiserations to all our beaten semi-finalists and we wish all the qualifiers good luck today.

There is still time to enter next weeks Golf Week, enjoy the good weather that is forecast and create some memories with those already entered. Remember there are 5 day, 3 day and daily competitions designed to suit your availability. To clarify the 3 day competition, you must enter a time on the Monday INITIALLY to be on the tee sheet for the week-then contact the shop to have your first round changed to another day if that suits you better.
