Good afternoon everybody that follows the Fair City page, just letting everybody know what is happening with regards to Fair City AFC setting up a team again for this coming season 2020-21. I spoke to Lionel a couple of seasons ago with the intention of moving our under 19s team from scone out to Huntingtower Park, but unfortunately there was a youth team using the facilities at the time and we ended up staying at Scone. We've had a season out now and the team are all keen to get back together. After speaking again with Lionel, we are coming back as Fair City AFC with Lionel as chairman and have a committee and coaching line up in place. Player wise we are in a very good position, with experienced players coming in to bolster our squad, which means we have solid commitments from 18 players and numerous enquires from others who have all been told they are welcome to training. Sponsorship wise we are doing ok with tracksuits, bags and a set of strips already secured and money available to pay league fees. A big fundraiser had been organised, but had to be cancelled due to current circumstances. We are going to the clubhouse between now and new season to repaint changing rooms inside and out and repair damaged ceilings, doors etc. We are very excited about the future of the club and can’t wait to get started. It would be great if there are any ex players and committee that want to get involved and hopefully we will do the club badge justice.
