Another year full of swords!

Hello everyone, we hope you have all had pleasant adventures. We have been pretty quiet on FB, but fear not for we are rather loud behind the curtain.
We've chosen to be quite quiet here and are focussing rather on our interior server for comms for the group. This doesnt mean we wont be using this page, and are always contactable via messanger and on our email.
We will intend to post important and rather proud moments of our club here and there. But otherwise, we shall persist as usual with much swording and tangential banter.

Every tuesday 7-9pm at the Salle Ossian Fencing Club.

There's always time for more swords!

Hope you all have been well these days. We may have been quiet on here recently but we have been operating well in the background with our usual shinanigens. More on that one day.

As it happens, some creators have reached out to us about a new and promising Kickstarter project.
Hema Decks is a playing deck styled with art referenced or inspired by the books of old, and looks to be quite a new view to the wonderful world of HEMA. With each suit representing a different weapon system, this deck provides an insight to the techniques and mechanics all whilst trying still to be at your Gran at Go-Fish.

We're back for another Open Sparring and Forum night. We'll be focusing on ensuring safe entry and exit from an engagement, so expect plenty of practice and a good dose of coaching.

Another day for more swords ⚔️
We're off to a running start for the year, with last week being a very productive first spar of the year.
But with such a long winter break, there have been many requests for revisiting and polishing old techniques. So tonight, we'll be having a lesson for new and old fighters on how to exit and engagement intact.

Another week for more Swords!

We have made a grand return to form last week, with familiar and some new faces all joining to revisit the martial arts of masters past.
Come join us this week, 7-9 at the Salle Ossian Fencing Club, for our first Sparring and Open Forum night of the year.
We will let everyone get back into practice after such a long and merry break. Though we will have the potential for coached sparring and some drills at hand to answer some questions raised from last week.
Looking forward to crossing blades with you soon.

Another year for more Swords!

Welcome back and happy New Year to all. We have had a great 2024, where we saw our new troop grow, took part in several tournaments and even hosted an event for the wider Scottish community. Such a successful year and we thank everyone we have had the pleasure to cross blades with and share in general shenanigans.
We look forward to what the new year brings. Come join us, 7-9 at the Salle Ossian Fencing Club as we kick off the year getting back into the swing of things. We will have space for beginners to come and see HEMA for yourselves. So grab your best sword and don your dance shoes, Lets start 2025 ⚔️

The year is nearly out and tonight will be our last session, so expect some more festive shenanigans than usual. Santa Hats are voluntary but Christmas Flare is always welcome.

Another Day for more Swords!

With the Holidays fast approaching, we will be having a bit of a twist for the penultimate session of the year.
Come join us, 7-9pm at the Salle Ossian Fencing Club, for a lesson on not only using your blade, but controlling your opponents. Prepare your loot bags and your best General Grievous impressions as we cover seizing weapons and Disarming combatants with some extra flare added of course.

We have been reviewing the uses of primarily the Ochs but also the Phlug in our "Pyramid Defence" block as of late. Now we look forward to putting our new skillset to the test.
