Don’t skip this vital phase of your training if you don’t want to plateau early.

Massive congrats to Steven for benching 100kg, he’s been working extremely hard and this achievement is well deserved.

The Night Snacker skill embraces our nocturnal eating habits by avoiding food intake in the morning and sometimes early afternoon.

Placing our first meal somewhere between 11am-2pm allows for greater and more satisfying meals in the evening where willpower is at its lowest.

While not right for everyone, this skill can be very useful in regards to long term weight management.

Remember, however, that too much focus on “weight loss” over just generally feeling better is likely to run you into trouble.

So choose skills and habits that aid you in your quest to feel the best you can. Night Snacker when not combined with good sleep and nutrition could potentially just leave you feeling super hungry and tired.

However, I personally really like this skill. So if you’re the type that loves a large portion and is drawn to that fridgelight, try giving in to your moonlust. 🐺🌕

It’s been a great pleasure watching Steven level up his strength and confidence in the gym. He has been patient, stuck to our plan and gained strength the right way. I’m very excited to see his level grow even higher in 2023.

When I first started Bastion I slapped my logo in front of a picture of Skye, not one I had taken myself but rather a stock image. In Fact I’d never been to Skye, despite living in Scotland all my life. I’m not really sure why but something about the island just spoke to my soul maaaaaaan.

At the end of summer 2022 I finally embarked on this legendary adventure, and guess what?

It was one of the most memorable weekends of my life shared with someone I love.

I’ll never forget our salvation at the bride’s veil falls, confronting a giant, crossing the sea on foot, surviving the mythical twilight swarm or our perilous journey to the secluded cove (tales may be tall).

These memories are so vivid because they are special and unique. Which brings me to the inevitable new year’s resolution..

In 2023 I want more of what I value most, adventure, memorable experiences and quality time with the people I love.

For those interested in gameifying their life, such as myself, habits become “skills”.

In many games, you must have skills actively equipped to your character to reap the benefits. These benefits could vary from generic boosts to your stats - a small increase in strength for example - or perhaps a new ability like shooting Divine lightning from your ni***es!!!

If repeated enough times, these skills become learned: meaning they are no longer active but rather “passive”.

Once a skill is passive, it becomes much easier to perform and requires far less effort and motivation. This, in turn, frees up slots to equip new active skills.

What on Gaia’s earth am I talking about??

Doing things that you want to but basically can’t be arsed - like going to the gym or out for a walk - are only really difficult as active skills. Levelling those suckers up to passive will make things a lot easier by replacing motivation with hard earned discipline.
