It’s that time of year where we once again wish a happy birthday to Mr Pershore Bowls, or Maurice as he prefers to be called.
Dad has been turning up to work on all things bowls for well over 50 years now and I’m pretty sure he still loves it every day. 🙏🏻
I’m not sure what he wants for his birthday, kind of hoping it’s beer, chocolate and socks 🤞🏻
But we’ll start with a few photos and a big happy birthday from us all and go from there 😉

We have been extremely busy so far this year, big thanks to all our customers.

Today we erased an English Rose 🌹 emblem from a customers Vector VS and replaced it with this Welsh Dragon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.
Felt like a little bit of a traitor but customer was happy so we’ll get over it 😆

Hi everyone. The start of 2026 has been exceptionally busy here at PBC with lots of work through the post and through the door, so thanks to all.
If you are considering posting some bowls to us, please read the below guide to help with those first initial questions 🙏🏻
Test/stamp and gripping jobs are generally going back out within 7 days.
Refurbishments and multiple process jobs are taking longer so please bear with us 😊

A set of Henselite Tiger 2 in today for a nice standard 30 dimple grip. Customer just wanted a little more grip but nothing too deep.
30 dimples has been the standard choice on new bowls for an absolute age and looks and feels great. A good option if you want grips added and you have a plain bowl.
A good buff polish afterwards and they look lovely.
Very nice colour combination 👌🏻

Gripping is £45 for a set of four.
Return postage is £12 if you are posting them in.

Our “Xmas break clear out” has unearthed a little collection of amazing magazines. 🫡

Will be available for customers to have a thumb through while they wait for renovations, no bacon sandwich fingers though 😉

For a great cause. Get involved if you are able 🙌🏻

Hi all we are running an open Charity Cup at Bromsgrove Indoor Bowls Club on Saturday 7th February 2026.

This our first try at this and we will be raising funds for British Heart Foundation which is a very worthy cause supported by so many dedicated local volunteers.

We will be running a raffle on the day and have a confirmed donated prize from Pershore Bowls Centre which is greatly appreciated.

Let’s get this filled and make it a spectacular day.

Thanks to the guys from BWLS for visiting us last week with some crown green jacks for testing.
We are an approved test centre for the BCGBA.
All bowls and jacks are calibrated on our 36ft full length test table.
We offer a host of services and renovations on crown green bowls, whether they are composite bowls or Lignum Vitae. We remodel Lignum vitae only, not composite, but we do refurbishment services on both. We do not use lacquer on composite, but we do remove damaged lacquer and repair/polish the bowls surface. Test, adjust, gripping, erasing and engraving, fitting new plates or just a bias check for peace of mind, I’m sure we can help.
We stock/sell secondhand, or new, bowls and jacks and pretty much anything else needed.

If you are a crown green bowler, whether a previous customer or someone who has never used us before, feel free to give us a call, a visit or post your bowls to ourselves for any work required.

📍 Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Pershore Bowls Centre and meeting Andy and his family while dropping off the jacks from Boldmere Sports & Social to be tested and stamped.
Such a nice family — really helpful and incredibly knowledgeable.
I’m looking forward to catching up with Andy again in March to learn more about the specialist work they do behind the scenes to keep our game safe and fair.

Christmas Post info -

We don’t post out during Christmas to avoid obvious issues.

Our last posting out day before Christmas is 16th Dec, and our first posting out day of the new year is 6th January.

Any work received too late to get out before the 16th will be put back until the new year.
