Lou's Swimming School I am a qualified swimming instructress with over 35 years experience and have taught many hundreds of people to swim.

I have been based here for the past twenty years. My swimming pool is small, private, very warm (92 degrees) indoors, in Morvah.

Hi everyone.
It is with huge regret and sadness that I am no longer able to continue with swimming lessons.
I was all set to restart this week, with the pool heated but with threats of further domestic violence made towards me, I have been forced to leave my home, pool and garden. Obviously this is a very traumatic time and devastating decision to have had to make.
Please ignore any malicious comments which you may have seen on my Swimming and Personal pages. These were placed from a place of vindictive spite, some even being put in my name, as though written by me.
I know that many of you have paid a lesson in advance. Please would you contact me at [email protected] if this applies to you so that I can arrange your refund. Please do not reply via this webpage as I will be closing it down imminently.
I shall miss you all very much and apologise to all of you. I really wish that I could have continued. I also wish I had been able to say goodbye to you and your children in person.

Hi everybody, I have now tested negative to Covid and I’m really looking forward to getting back to Swimming this week.

Having been classed as extremely vulnerable, I obviously had feelings of trepidation. However, for me it was a doddle and with only three days of feeling quite bad and extreme exhaustion , I am now almost totally recovered. It will take me a short while to recover from the chest infection that was obvious for me to have. I hope that by posting this I am not insulting anybody who has suffered more than me, but may help to reassure others who have been made to feel as fearful as myself. For me it is quite a relief to have had and survived this with so much ease.
Can’t wait to see you all this week.
In the last 30 + years I have been working out in this pool, I have never taken so much time off as since Covid struck!

Hi everyone unfortunately I have tested positive for the plague, I will keep you informed as to when swimming can resume obviously I will be waiting until I am testing negative so likely to be a minimum of 5 days. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope to see you all soon

Hi everyone, the pool is up and running and fully heated.
It would be appreciated if people can still arrive in their swimwear but the changing room is available to use after their lesson.

Hi everyone, sorry but still no swimming this week! We have had to wait for the electrician who will finish the job tomorrow and then we should be able to get the boiler commissioned. I am seriously expecting and hoping that I will be able to restart next week. However It will take a good few days to bring the water up to heat especially in the frosts that we are currently getting! Really looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year
We are currently fitting a new boiler which has been quite problematic. I thought that I would be able to restart Swimming this week but this has proved too optimistic, I am hoping that I will be able to resume lessons from next week, however I will update later in the week to confirm. I am looking forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.
Let’s hope that 2022 will be a good swimming time for us all!

Hi all,

I am very sorry but unfortunately I need to cancel Swimming for the next 2 weeks as a member of my household has tested positive for Covid.

Although it is not my legal obligation to cancel I strongly believe that it is my moral responsibility to do so especially given the close contact needed in most lessons.

As it is such short notice, I would appreciate if you could comment on my page that you have seen this post as it is going to be very difficult to contact everybody in time.

The next lessons can resume on the 6th of October onwards. My sincere apologies to anybody that I cannot contact before coming here. I am sure that you appreciate my predicament.

Hi all, I’m so excited to restart lessons.

The pool is now freshly painted and heating as I type. I'm all vaccinated and raring to go! Swimming will resume next Wednesday (26th May).

However, In line with Covid restrictions and regulations things will be slightly different as I'm sure you will understand

🏊‍♀️ Children will need to both arrive and leave in their swimwear.

🏊‍♂️ There will be a one way system in and out of the pool area.

🏊‍♀️ Parents will be unable to spectate (except for carers) but you will be able to sit in the gazebo which will be out in my front garden or wander round my beautiful mature back garden which I have created over the past 30years (please no dogs)

I am hoping that everyone will be able to attend on the days that they used to come but times will need to alter slightly in order to accommodate the social distancing of arrivals and departures.

I would appreciate if you would contact me on this page to confirm you will be attending.

Please do spread the word that I am reopening.
I will contact everyone who has made enquires as soon as my timetable is complete.

I really am so looking forward to seeing you all again.

Hi everyone I hope this message reaches you all safe and well in these very strange times.

Just an update to let you all know that unfortunately as yet I have been advised by my Rheumatologist not to restart lessons as I am so vulnerable should I catch Covid. We have been using this time carefully though to do some needed repairs and renovations on the pool.

This will be under regular review and I really hope to be able to welcome old and new faces back very soon, I am so missing watching everybody progress and achieve so much and of course miss teaching you all.

Please keep an eye on this page for any further updates.

I hope everyone continues to stay safe and would love to hear from any of you.

Hello, I hope everyone is staying safe, I am missing teaching you all very much.

I have been thinking about how the current climate is impacting everybody financially, given this and that I don’t see lessons starting up again anytime soon I would like to return everyone’s week in advance money, can you all please private message me with either BAC’s details or paypal and I will return it to you all ASAP.
