Yesterday was a strong start to the ladiesβ season, as the team came away with an impressive 4β0 victory! β½οΈπ
With Jodie Gardiner finding the net just seconds after kick-off, we were sure there was plenty more to come. We created chance after chance throughout the first half, but just couldnβt find the back of the net again, with the Redruth keeper pulling off some great saves to keep us at bay.
Into the second half, we continued to battle, create chances and push forward. With probably 20+ shots in the second half alone, we were hoping the goals would eventually come β and thankfully, they did!
Jodie Gardiner once again carried the ball forward and calmly planted it into the net to make it two. Not long after, a fantastic run from Sophie Bonell saw her find space in the box, where she slotted the ball perfectly into the corner.
We finally found our rhythm and just before the full 90 minutes, Jodie Gardiner found the net for a third time, securing her hat-trick and putting the game beyond doubt!
It was a great, competitive game against Redruth, and weβd like to thank them for the game and the facilities.
With everyone putting in a great performance, thereβs only one thing we can take away from this oneβ¦ we definitely need some shooting practice. With the number of chances we created, we could easily have been into double digits!

Jodie not only found the net three times, but was consistently involved throughout the game and played some cracking balls through to create opportunities for her teammates. A fantastic all-round performance! π

Despite getting herself on the scoresheet, Sophie takes home DOTD after producing one of the worst handballs weβve ever seen!
She must have briefly forgotten she was playing football as she casually went to grab the ball out of the air!
A great team performance, four goals, a clean sheet and three points to start the season.
