Scuba Diving offering clubs and eco projects along with some SSI training for all, try dive experiences, kids clubs, main club diving and 121 guided dives in and around Cornwall. SSI Dive Centre, and SSI Classfiedd Dive Centre based in Pentewan, Cornwall (near Mevagissey and St Austell), Viewpoint Diving Cornwall is a SSI dive training centre and also has an active dive club. We provide SSI stan

dard and classfied training through from total beginners and try dives through to Instructor and an extensive range of specialities. We have a small shop which includes basic dive equipment (including spares and the bits everyone tends to forget when they pack!) and can also offer kit servicing and air fills. Our dive club meets regularly, offering dives at local dive sites along with regular beach and dive site cleanups. Starting this year we will also be having informal social events for club members and diving or non-diving partners.

Well done to everyone at the pool today with students from Callywith College doing a pre project Wallacea try dive with us today, it’s great seeing students progress from never been scuba diving so a little nervous to not wanting to exit the water and stay scuba diving.
All did great and a big shout to the team Cathy,Ethan and Brian for all your help.

Tomorrow night kids club and Richard Lander School for a try dive before their trip to Thailand.

For those of you wondering what portmellon is like today, well it’s stunning and ready for swim, dive , snorkel etc.
remember their are great facilities there including the shack for hot and cold drink, pasty and cake, and the rising sun inn for a great Sunday dinner or food and drink.

Sorting out some of our masks today for people who find it hard to equalise or clear masks for one reason or another, it’s all part of the equipment that is mainly used when we have classfied dives, as allows for mark clearing with no hands or limited movement, also great if you have equalising issues as with the ear ppfd joins the mask to ear equalising pressure. (We have various sizes and the hoods that work with these).
As a SSI classfied Center scuba is for all.

Today we are doing try dives, practice for 6 students from Callywith College who are off to Croatia soon on a Project Wallace expedition. A great experience to learn about the natural world and ecology So back at the pool.

Viewpoint is used to working with children, young people and adults, our pros are DBS checked and we invite parents and teachers etc to be onsite or at the pool to watch and see the great progression the divers make.
Viewpoint also has most of its staff, pros and volunteers as SSI Classfied trained as buddies,pros or instructors. They are also all used to working with children, young people and adults due to the two clubs they are all involved in, kids club and main club.
Viewpoint offer all main SSI ecology courses, learning about ecology is so important and extends your ecology and diving knowledge.

Cathy, Craig, Ethan, Brian and Jared. Was a great day a way less blue jellyfish about. Good Viz and water 14 degrees so semi dry weather tbh but Dave still in drysuit and heated vest lol.
Viewpoint has bought some more lip guides for those that want to borrow them, only purple arrived so far, but keep lips warm and help protect against that jellyfish sting.
