What a blooming fantastic day. Great turn out with perfect weather after all that hot weather we have had recently.

Thank you for being such great people. Not 1 bit of litter was left on the parking field. You literally can not tell we had such a big event on today. Other than where the horses enjoyed the grass. I love to see the patches they make around the parking field.

Photos will all be put up tomorrow by Diane Coward Brierley photography.
I think Diane, Barry and Lucy have captured the day perfectly. Please do support the photographers they give up a full day to capture the fun being had. Please don't just screen shot photos off the website.

Don't forget get we have another ride booked in for July 26th. Bookings are open on horse monkey.

Good morning riders

Directions for new riders this weekend.

The best way is to head to Shap. Either on the M6 or A6.

Once in Shap you need to take the turn off for Bampton and Haweswater. Follow our yellow signs from this junction.

Go past Shap Abbey and up past Rosgill.

Head down into Bampton Grange. Go past the church which should be on your left. Over the bridge and take a left turn towards the farm.
Keep on this road right through our farm.

You will see jumps out in the fields and if your not 1st out you will see other riders. Keep on this road until you come to the parking field. It's huge so we have plenty of room to park. Give yourself plenty of space between you and your neighbour.

We have no water in the troughs in the parking field this year as this one and a couple of other fields have been taken back by the estate. But they are very happy for us to hold the ride again this year.

If you bring a bucket you can get water from the river.

Don't forget there is Β£10 remaining to pay oer rider on the gate when you arrive.

Please bring extra cash for the catering trailer as the card machines won't work in the field. Internet single is terrible.

The menu is going to be

Bacon rolls
Cumberland sausage rolls
Pulled Wagyu Brisket over chips
Wagyu chilli nachos
Wagyu burgers loaded with salad onion and cheese.
Chips

I have made flapjack, lemon drizzle cake, school cake and if I get time today i'll make a brownie.

Food is served from 8am until the last rider has got back which is usually around 4.30pm so stock does get less as the day goes on. I do my best to take as much as I can down to the field.

Safe journey to us tomorrow.

Photo I took walking back from the pub on Thursday evening.

Ok lovely riders

I have a riders who is now coming on her own on the 12-1pm slot.

She is looking for a ride buddy.

Would anyone be willing to ride with her?
She is traveling down from Scotland and really doesn't want to miss the ride.

Please comment on this post for the rider to see.

Many thanks in advance Laila

A polite reminder about our no refund and no transfer policy.

A number of years ago we held a ride which was pay on the day. Over 50 riders didn't turn up because the weather was looking a bit damp. This made the ride not viable. The work involved in moving stock, setting jumps out and getting everything in place so we can take the day off from our farm to allow riders to enjoy the farm ride isn't a quick job. This takes months of planning just on Richards huge list of jobs.
This was why we decided to begin taking deposits. This way it helps to make the ride worth us putting on.

Many think they are the only ones asking for a refund or to move ride places to a future ride. If I did this for all who ask the ride would have had to stop years ago.

You are very welcome to gift or sell your ride slot to someone else.

We only ask for a deposit and not the full ride money to help in such situations.

I know not all will think this is fair. But you are very welcome have a go yourselves, to find land and set up a 6 mile loop with jumps and the farmer be happy for you to gallop around whatever the ground conditions dry or wet, with an attached 4 mile bridleway. Arrange a team of photographers and have lovely tasty food cooked fresh for you to enjoy.

However we are looking forward to seeing all you riders this Sunday. The signs are out, jumps are out, we just need to mark out the fell loop and I need to start cooking & baking so you have food & cake to enjoy.

Please follow the one way system coming into the valley. This is to help you all. But please be aware other road users will be around.

Photos taken this morning on the 4 mile bridleway loop.

Hello riders πŸ‘‹

Not long until our 1st ride of the year. 31st May. There are ride spaces available via Horse Monkey once these have gone that will be the ride fully booked.

I know a few are worried about events going ahead due to recent flu outbreaks.

We are going ahead. Please just be sensible. Only use your own water buckets. Let's keep horses in their own groups. Horses definitely don't need to be kissing each other. You will be out in the fabulous fresh air.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to the ride. The ground is amazingly dry at the moment. The jumps are starting to go out as we move stock around. We have just about finished lambing. We will do our best to hide all the sheep and lambs.

We have new photographers this year. I'm sure Diane Coward Brierley and her team will capture the fun being had by you all. πŸ“ΈπŸ“Έ

Please remember to bring plenty of cash with you. Β£10 is still left to pay when you arrive for the remaining ride money. The catering trailer is also cash only as the card machine is unable to get an Internet/wifi signal in the field. πŸ₯“πŸ”πŸŒβ˜•οΈπŸ«–πŸ₯€

We now just need the weather to be kind to us. 🀞

The hedge jump is looking great. We have managed to keep the wild deer🦌 🦌 🦌 off it this year. It might even need a little trim.

Whoop Whoop we are soooo very glad we didn't cancel todays ride. How blooming lucky were we πŸŽ‰πŸŒžπŸ‘Œ

Fantastic turn out after all the rain we have had. We were worried the ground would be to wet but it was so much better than it could have been.

Thank you to all the riders who came and enjoyed the ride. Lots of new faces today and many many familiar regular faces 😊

Todays photos will be uploaded onto Helm Photography website. Now Mark isn't well at the moment so it may not happen over night. But I'm certain he will do his best and get them up as soon as he can. I'm sure the other Mark who took the photos today will have done a fantastic job as usual. I can't wait to see the fun that was captured today. So please fo tag the ride or myself in your photos you purchase.
