If you want to build muscle AND become a better runner, stop approaching training like you need to choose one.
You donât.
But you also canât just throw loads of running on top of loads of lifting and hope your body figures it out.
Structure matters.
For most fellas wanting to improve their running without sacrificing their physique, Iâd start simple:
1 easy run.
Actually easy. Build your aerobic base without fu***ng yourself up.
1 quality session.
Intervals or threshold work with a clear purpose.
1 long run.
Build your ability to sustain effort over longer distances.
Alongside 3â4 well-structured strength sessions.
Then recover from it.
Sleep.
Eat enough protein.
Fuel harder sessions with carbohydrates.
Manage your overall volume.
And stop trying to PB every run.
You donât become a better hybrid athlete by seeing how much training you can survive.
You become one by balancing enough stimulus to improve with enough recovery to adapt.
Save this if youâre trying to get stronger, fitter and faster at the same time đđźââď¸đŞđź
