A little ebony update !!
So this past month has been a tough one!
We sadly lost rose in birth, our little lady lost her mum a hour after being born so we had to take over mummy role!
Bottle feeding every 3/4 hours took its toll!
We knew there is a possibility to bring a mare to milk with a drug so having pirote in the feild she was our most likely candidate as she has the temprement and had had babies before so we started her on the tablets that take up to 10days to work
In that time a foster mare became available so we took the chance on her as she was already in milk.
We brought her home and did the introduction, she did allow her to suckle but it was quite clear she wasnt happy about it!
Luckily we still had pirote on the tablets in the back ground we had her in the stable next door to ebony to try and introduce a bond which started to form quickly but we still had to wait for the milk to come! She had to have 2 rounds of tablets so took more like 20 days to come to milk
Fast forward 2 weeks the bond was made the milk was there we thought we had made it untill we came to her one morning and she was on 3 legs! 🫣 vet visit on a bank holiday !
Suspected joint ill... antibiotics see what tomorrow brings
Another vet visit- joint ill? possible break? 😢
In to the practice for Xrays & joint flush
Relief no break, no infection but let's flush it just to make sure
Sedation administration she went in to some sort of reaction to the sedation which scared all of us terribly!!!
Never seen a baby react before and we honestly thought the worst she took 1h30mins to come round.
What a roller coaster ride it has been she is finally out in the feild being a normal baby with a mother which is all we ever want to see.
There's just a £2200 vet bill to find now !!!! 🫣

Last but not least !!!
Baby Luca made his appearance!
A surprise baby out of a little cob mare we bought last year with a foal at foot! Safe to say hes a cracker ! 🥰

Sad news from us this week 😢 we lost our beautiful mare rose during birth on Wednesday morning.
Awful to loose a foal but to loose the mare and have a beautiful bouncing baby its a whole new level of cruel 💔
Her filly foal is outstanding still early days being bottle fed whilst we try bring our mare pirote in to milk for her but thats a week/10days process then we have to see it she'll actually except her,
Just another kick to make us wonder why we do it,
Please keep your fingers crossed for a happy ending 🤞❤️

Everyone meet Pip ❤️ our wonderful Roxy gave birth to this cracking filly on thursday night we were extremely nervous about this birth after roxy loosing her last baby, this little girl was born up drinking and pooing within 20 mins of being born huge relief for us all !! 💕

Nothing really very much exciting has been going on here this winter other than trying to survive it, im sure every equestrian reading this is feeling the same with the constant rain and the sheer price of just day to day.
Ive been steadily working away with this lovely chap and hes coming along so wonderfully yesterday we finally made it to a show not expecting anything as its his first time seeing white boards flowers etc
He did a lovely test and as always does it with the biggest smile on his face
He came 2nd with a score of 68% which is brilliant for a 1st attempt
Looking forward to the summer and seeing what he can achieve 🥰❤️

🌟 12yr old 13.2 appaloosa mare 🌟
The absolutely lovely Hippo is available on sales livery due to her owner heading off to university!
Hippo is a fabulous pony who will most definitely excel in a pony club all rounder home !
Shes been living on a farm so is very much used to big farm machinery she hacks out for hours
Shes attended training clinics , fun rides, hunt rides and the odd little jumping show popping 70cm happily
Shes has plenty more jump in the tank
There's not a job she wont do
Shes a forward but safe ride definitely more a 2nd pony type who likes to get on with the job !
Shes a lovely person and great with kids
