Fab fun Sunday social ride taking in Jenkins crag and the Troutbeck side of Garburn pass, with some of the nice folk from Skipton Mtb.

Our Lake District Social Rides have still been happening, I just keep forgetting to put them up on here, (sorry!) soooo..

this weekend, we have not one but two Lakes rides, for those who dare!!

Saturday's Pre-Halloween Nearly-Night ride (optional fancy dress) will be starting from The Brittannia Inn, in Elterwater.

Meeting at 5pm gives us the last of the daylight, so bike lights shouldn't be dying on anyone. It also means anyone who wants to can grab some pub grub and a drink after.

The ride is around the 10.5 mile mark and should take 2.5 to 3 hours, including faff time..

I went to check some of it last night and didn't need lights for the first hour..

Jenkins Crag and Garburn pass, "lollipop" version.

This variation cuts out the daft tarmac section along Lake Rd. It's mostly steady away with around 3000 ft of elevation..

Expect challenging / spicy terrain, up and down Garburn Pass.

Typical Lake District, loose, rough, rocky.

It's a classic!

It's also a 20 miler, so bring snacks.

Go pro shots from a belting day out on the bikes up Helvellyn and Seldom Seen with some of the Skipton Mtb crew.

All bikes and mechs were still intact, the only things that were sacrificed to the mountain were the sole of a shoe and a couple of inner tubes!

Excellent result!

E-bike friendly, steady paced social, around 15 miles.. ish!

**Please dress appropriately for changeable lake district weather!!

A- Finishing in Hawkshead for beer and pizza!

16 miles of Grizedale Surprise with Michaela, Chris, and Ed.

Helped a couple of riders find their way round part of the bridleway loop whilst on route aswell.

Top day!

Here's a few pics from a recent epic day guiding a favourite Skiddaw loop, heading out via Lonscale Fell and returning via Birkett edge, Whitewater Dash and Skiddaw House.

The weather started out seemingly perfect, but as often is the case with the high fells, as we hiked the bikes up we headed into a fairly strong wind and a low cloud base which made for zero visibility up at the summit.

The "fence line" may be the most direct route off Skiddaw but it's steeper sections mean it's not for the feint hearted.

We had intended to have a look at Ullock Pike but the weather conditions weren't ideal for heading off the mountain that way.

That's another big one ticked off Adams list.

Awesome effort!!
