What a grand day!

The race was a great success and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

I am so grateful for all the help and support from Maria, and Cristina (my family), all the amazing volunteers and of course the runners and their supporters. Thanks go to the land owners, the FRA and to Tebay School and Tebay Families Together for their help too.

I don't have the final figures yet but Tebay School have raised £415.16 on the cake stand and with our contribution, that's over £600! Families Together will receive a contribution and there will be around £2000 going to CALM.

It's RACE day!

We are doing the final set up this morning to receive between 400 and 500 runners at Lower Borrowdale.

It looks like a beautiful day and we are raring to go.

Don't forget to bring loose change for cakes, and hot and cold drinks.

Please be patient with us when you arrive as this is my first race and it is a biggie!

I have sent a message out to all those currently signed up to the race about T-shirts - remember that if you want one on the day, you need to order it by tomorrow evening.

The T-shirts are part of our eco-plan in that they are bought and paid for by those who want them and they are made from recycled material. Our eco-plan also extends to using environmentally friendly plates, cups and cutlery, and not providing cups on water stations - bring a cup or a bottle! The race numbers are recyclable too - just stuff them into a plastic milk bottle to recycle as they are made from the same stuff.

Order maps for collection on the day too.

The T-shirt design has (more or less) been finalised and here it is.

The only addition will be the words "English Championships 2022"

These are available to pre-order until Monday at midnight and all orders after that and on the day won't get them on the day but they can be collected or posted out after the event.

The Ts are an environmentally friendly production using only recycled material.

£17 each.

REMINDER: on the day, it is forbidden to use GPS to navigate. You can record your track on your device and use it in an emergency but you cannot use it to navigate the course. Any found doing so, will be disqualified and reported to the FRA. These are FRA rules.

I have been asked a few times about whether the river crossing on the route is a mandatory crossing point. I have decided to make it so as it is the only place I have a water safety person. Also for the route to CP4, you must go up to the Skyline from the river crossing. The race is a Skyline of the valley, therefore it is expected that you follow the Skyline. Within that, there are a few small racing lines to take but YOU MUST FOLLOW THE SKYLINE.

I will be sending an email out with all the race details, including parking, registration, rules for this race, kit requirements and anything else I can think of that you need to know.

If you want to book camping (tents or vans), buy a T-shirt, or order a mpa for delivery, please do so ASAP! For the maps, any orders received from now on will need to pay a little more for first class postage. There will be maps on the day and T-shirts can be ordered on the day to be delivered after the race.

The English Champs 20k race is filling up nicely but there are still lots of spaces on the 10k fell race.

The 10k is a great route following part of the Skyline, starting and finishing in the same place as the 20k. It is characterised by some lovely trail running with 2 fairly short fell climbs which are really hikes and some great views. Perfect for a first fell race or a good opportunity to podium as all the top runners are doing the 20k!!
