SUNSHINE ☀️ I love winter but there’s nothing quite like being able to shed all the layers and cruise around the hills in shorts and t-shirt again!

Another good long run day around the paths less trodden of the Yorkshire Dales.

An epic morning out with one of coaches athletes Colin looking at leg 1 of the Bob Graham ahead of his attempt in June.

A savage time on the tops with high winds with driving snow gave way to some sunshine and views by the time we descended off Blencathra.

It’s been great to watch Colin improve his running efficiency and speed over the last year and perform even in some brutal conditions.

Some more hard work in the next few months and I’m sure he’ll have a great day on his BG.

It definitely helped conform today where I don’t want to go on a few sections!

4.5 hours out on the fell was definitely enough for the old girl.

Not the outcome I’d hope for at the Arc or Attrition.

It’s always a hard choice to pull out of a race, the time and effort that goes into getting there means the right choice is sometimes hard to justify.

A dodgy stomach from 5k in and the quads just gave up after Lands End meant I was at a snails pace and the thought of taking 10+ hours to do the last 30km didn’t fill me with psych!

The route, place and people were amazing so I’m sure I’ll be back again.

A beauty of a morning out for a run around Ullswater. Last long run before the Arc ✅.

Scrambling is that weird world between walking and climbing, it’s probably the most complicated ground we cover in the mountains.

Chris, Ian, Alex and Sam are off to attempt the Cuillin Ridge later in the year and wanted to practice moving efficiently over that type of ground and all the skills needed for the ridge.

A tour around the Langdale valley up and down multiple scrambles, finishing on middlefell buttress and a self managed abseil off showed them the breadth of terrain they will encounter.

Thanks to for helping deliver a great day.

It goes to show it’s worth taking a walk out to see if a route is possible.

Dave and Lily were psyched to get out for a play in whatever snow had been left by the last few days rain, we headed high up on Ben Nevis to No 3 gully which was solid and even had a little bit of ice in the middle to play on.

A long day out for members of the Cambridge Uni Hillwalking Club developing navigation skills for day and night nav independence.

Some challenging weather and underfoot conditions meant both teams had to focus hard to navigate around the mountains.

A great day as always with the club and we’re already looking forward to meeting up with them next month for some winter fun.

2024 was one illness after the other which meant no racing and not even any training.

The worst of it over I just wanted to get out for a decent run and see if the brain and body still had it in them.

The Limestone Bay Round was local and a great challenge. The weather was stunning, underfoot conditions were grim but still a great day.
