Div 2 season completed! In what ended as a season championship overtime point to play for in the final of round 5 the boys took first place on the day and first place for the season! Thanks to all the teams for some epic battles, thanks to CPPS especially to the refs and staff that keep the wheels turning! Sunday saw the final round of the 2023 CPPS season. After topping Division 4 last year the lads took a step up into the unknown of Division 3. Expecting an even tougher season, they got exactly what they thought they would! Every point in every game was a tough fight and there isn't an easy team in that division each event shows if you have a bad round someone else will take advantage of it! We entered the final round sat in first, but with so many teams only a few points behind it was all to play for!

A little post from our CPPS team captain Adz about the 2023 season and how it all ended:

"And thats a wrap, from South Coast Reapers this season - Div 3 .

Just a little run down and look-back, of how we got on in division 3.

Big change after rd1- we were coaching as a squad instead of having a designated coach (prior to this season.)

Ben Gillingham has always had a keen eye for layouts and a strategic mindset so we promoted him to coach for the rest of the season.

I truly believe it was the best decision for the team.

His keen eye and quick decision making has got us to where we are today! A massive thank you from myself as captain and the whole Reaper squad.

Rd1 - A shaky start to the year, not having the whole squad for round 1, due to holidays & little to no training, (it showed) as we fell short, coming in at 7th place.

Rd2 - With an ok ish result from rd1 and having the squad back together, we were determined to do better.

With an interesting symmetrical layout,(which we really enjoyed) we climbed the ranking taking 1st place.

Rd3 NXL EVENT - This year’s NXL wasn’t our best round, after starting the day with good prelims results we fell short in the quarterfinals to sabotage (great bunch of lads) and were sent home taking another 7th place.

(Still awesome to have the NXL Europe @ CPPS, roll on a 3rd year of it please).

Rd4- After another ok ish event at rd3 we wanted and needed more, we couldn’t face going home early again.

So what better way to finish “take that top spot” and securing enough points to be top of the table going into round 5.

Rd5 - Another end to the season with all to play for….

It was a tough day & group!

Every team wanted to finish on a high but as you know there can only be one winner.

Coming best 3rd in are prelim group was enough to just scrape through to the afternoon club.

Struggling to contain certain areas of the layout in the morning we new we needed to up our game in the last final games of the afternoon.

We were consistently chopping and changing plays to adapt to what ever was thrown at us and pushing the issue when we needed to.

We knew we had to podium to have a chance of winning the series, after some close and tough points we managed to fight our way to the 1st and 2rd play off against Militia and take 🥇🏆place and title series for another consecutive year.

A few words from the CPPS team captain Adam:

An end to a season… and what a season it’s been!

With a new squad built in the pre season and new CPPS coach/captain Adam Buck at the reins, the time was upon us to re enter 2022 CPPS.

With a new squad, some old faces and some new, it was a fast learning curve for the guys to adjust, adapt and gel together and play as a team rather than individually and they did just that!!

Rd1 - After taking🥉 place at our 1st event hopes were high in the squad and the real grind started.

Rd2 -Taking another 🥉 place at rd2 just added more fuel to the 🔥 , which put even more drive into the guys, for rd3.

Rd3 NXL EVENT (a special event to me). Having Nxl Europe @ cpps for the first time was a big statement in the world of paintball, and it didn’t disappoint the guys and I got to experience our first NXL and get to watch pro teams from across Europe up close. It was a great spectacle and we hope it becomes a regular fixture on the NXL Europe calendar!

Not only being an NXL weekend it was the best performance for the team so far!
Bagging our first🥇 place podium, and to make it sweeter it was our own paint suppliers Pro Shar event!

Rd4 - After coming off a high with a 1st place podium back at rd3, the guys were hungry for more, after another great event making it though to the final against Herefordshire Hydra (great group of ladz btw ), we couldn’t quite clinch that 1st place and finished a very reasonable 🥈.
(But we don’t mind as we need a 2nd place trophy to complete the set)😅.

Rd5- Going into the 5th and final round of the season it was all to play for, as we were currently sat on the top spot. With the Crusaders just 6 points behind, with Hydra and Immortal Outlaws 2 hot on our heels.

As i said….all to play for!

After a shaky first game due to some penalties we came off with a loss, but we didn’t let that deter us we reset, dug in and came back with wins in the other 3 games in the prelims.

The final round of CPPS saw the Reapers take first place and with that secured the Div 4 Championship win as well!

Also a big shout to all the other Div 4 teams for all the points and games this year, it’s been a blast!

CPPS Round 3 Div 4 Valken cup 3rd place for the Reapers this weekend!

Reapers took 3rd place today at their first ever Mechanical Paintball event today at the Mechanical Masters Virst Open held at Paintball South today. Thanks to Oliver Mechanical Masters Fulbrook and Bart Onysek for putting on the event. Also thanks to the marshals and staff at Paintball South for the day. And of course the other teams who make the day!
