Tonight’s Penkridge Runners “Stamina Showdown” was all about controlled endurance and speed under pressure. The session was split into 2 x 20-minute sets, with the first focusing on endurance through 4 x 5-minute segments, progressing from easy pace to tempo, back to easy, before finishing with random whistle-triggered pace pickups that kept everyone alert and working hard.
The second set shifted the focus to downhill speed, with repeated sprints and jog-back recoveries. There was no time to switch off, as runners were challenged to maintain strong pace and good form throughout every effort.
A tough but enjoyable session that tested stamina, speed, and concentration. Great all-round effort from everyone tonight! 👏🇳🇺

SIX SENSE – CHALLENGE
Today’s session at Penkridge Runners was a simple pacing and consistency challenge — the aim was not to run each rep as fast as possible, but to hit the same distance every time.
6 × 5-minute runs with 2 minute recovery between each rep.
Rep 1 – WAS TO SET THE MARK
Runners ran for 5 minutes at a strong but sustainable pace and wherever they finished became their target distance.
Reps 2 to 5 was to MATCH IT
with exactly 5 minutes each time to reach the same finishing point as Rep 1.
Too early? You went too fast.
Too late? You needed to lift the pace.
Bang on? Perfect pacing!
Rep 6 – THE PERFECT FINISH
Was one final attempt to hit the target as accurately as possible.

The Challenge was who could produce the most consistent six efforts.
Well done to everyone involved today, great effort by all!
