Team Statement

We would like to release an update regarding Stoke Quest next year. After competing in CPPS since 2013 (With the exception of 2015) we have decided to re-direct our approach to playing in Europe. Thank you to Ainsley, Dylan and the Crew for the amazing events and for the incredible training facility. We will still be playing at CPPS to train for our upcoming events. We are really looking forward to playing new opponents in 2024 and going on some adventures!

2023 has officially begun for Stoke Quest with a 6th place outing at CPPS Round 1.

4-0 win vs Staffordshire and District Paintball Club
1-2 loss vs The Lucky 15s
2-1 win vs ‘Insurgents’ AKA Trash Pandas

1 more point in our favour against the Luckys (by name and nature) would have given us a bye straight to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, we drew an on form Manchester Firm who saw us heading to the viewing mounds with a 0-4 defeat in the quarters.

Congrats to Aidy Forknall and Oliver Turner on their red team debuts.

Quest had a year of highs and lows in 2022 - on the one hand, making quarters twice and being increasingly competitive with the traditional Big 6 establishment, with multiple draws to Attrition, a stonking 4-0 blowout of the Mustangs, and the narrowest of narrow overtime losses to Tigers...and on the other, continuing to not quite capture the coveted 'best of the rest' title, pipped to it by Warped with the difference being a single placement over the season.

The reduced division size has impacted Quest's rating more than it arguably should - with them running into the Big 6 teams more frequently than they might've with a 12-team division - but that doesn't quite reflect the progress of the squad. A year before their 3-2 OT loss to Tigers at R2, they were absolutely blown out in a 4-0 stomp by the same Tigers side; and whilst it probably feels a lot the same, it's indicative of genuinely massive development. You can see it in the more matured style of play we've seen out of Quest when compared to the more scrappy, gambit-heavy flair that they brought up with them from D1.

So what comes next for Quest in 2023? They have some roster changes with real life catching up to a few of their players, but also some incoming talent that we'll be sure to discuss in the near future - should Quest maintain their quality from last year, we could see them finally capture the 'best of the rest' title...or even break into the Big 6! We're excited to see real soon.

Back with a rejuvenated, determined and extensive team (coach and pit crew included), we achieved our best result ever. A hard fought 5th place included many great games including wins against Wolverhampton Warped and Staffordshire and District Paintball Club, a draw with London Attrition and a narrow 2 point loss to Operation Sandbaggers .

We drew London Tigers for our quarter-finals game (again). But an overtime defeat knocked us out of contention, leaving a bittersweet twist on the event.
