Guess who's FINALLY back? (Back again?)

Smashing day at CPPS Round 1. Great to see all the faces and teams, old and new!

After losing three key players at the end of last season, the first event back was always going to be tough -- especially with the tight training availability. We prevailed, and learnt a lot about the team that we need to become while we got back into the groove.

You couldn't ask any more from this team. They gave it their all, and the results speak for themselves: two very convincing wins and two losses that were fought to the last minute. (One loss was against a team that went on to be top of the Division, who said that we were their hardest game. They were unstoppable ...until they faced us!)

Thanks to the CPPS organisers, staff, and marshals. The new Mills-style socially-distanced pits system worked a treat! Thanks to shooter Llúcia Wood Photography for crushing it on the field with camera and marker today. (How do you do it?!)

Thanks to Bricket Wood Paintball, GI Sportz Paintball, and all the other fields and vendors for fuelling the return of the game we love. Special thanks to Planet Eclipse for their amazing customer support and pool of tech replacement markers. (Total peace of mind!)

Big shout out to Rusty (Turks) and Lewis (Northern Blackouts) for jumping in. See you next time, gents!

It is completely understandable:-

From the beginning, CPPS was founded on a passion for paintball, the community we serve and the ambition to make a venue for the UK to be proud of. Over the years Dylan and I have worked other jobs to ensure the site could grow and receive continued reinvestment to achieve this goal. Above all else, it’s the community which makes CPPS what we are today, and so we must honour that community by protecting it for the future.

Therefore, we have decided to cancel round 1. Not postpone or move the date. The reason for this is that whilst we have space in the calendar to reposition, we feel that the economic impact of what we’re going through now will have a negative effect on our customer base and so by dropping a round, we will lighten that load for this season. Many of our customers and family members are now on reduced hours and wages to ensure that their businesses and employers survive, and so we feel that by making this small change, it will support our players.

This season is now also about survival for CPPS. We hope we can weather the storm (as we have many before) and be here for you all on the other side. I’ll be honest and say that we will 100% need your support in the coming months. We love CPPS, we love our customers and we don’t plan on going anywhere!
