In celebration of Scotland’s first-ever World Cup win, it’s the perfect time to share this special photo of our two junior girls alongside Scotland players Gabriella Fontenla and Maisie Maceira.

Gabriella was part of the historic Scotland squad that secured the nation’s first World Cup victory today, a fantastic achievement and an inspiration for the next generation of players. Congratulations to Gabriella, Maisie, and the whole Scotland team on a memorable day for Scottish cricket!

Congratulations to Megan and the Scotland team!

A stellar day for Penicuik performers on Saturday saw two dominant victories, alongside the presentation of two traditional Baggy Maroons.

This prize is awarded to players who achieve either a century or a five-wicket haul while representing Penicuik, recognising a significant individual accomplishment.

1st XI captain Richard Adams presented a baggy cap to Banjo Waring following his magnificent 152 against Heriot’s. Banjo’s innings was a superb display of batting at Goldenacre.

A second baggy cap was awarded to Zac Crawley, who produced an outstanding all-round performance in the 2nd XI’s victory at Leith. Zac claimed remarkable figures of 6–10 with the ball and also contributed a rapid half-century, completing a truly exceptional day for the club.

Congratulations to both players on their achievements and on earning their baggy caps!

After a disappointing Week 6, the Mighty Twos hit the road looking to bounce back in style. Spirits have been lifted by the return of Scott Charleson, Grant Davidson, Zac Crawley, Lewis Carter and Keith Fraser, whose presence adds plenty of firepower to the top order.

There’s also excitement around young Archie Smith, who will be eager to build on his Sunday batting heroics and continue his impressive form.

With renewed strength in the squad and confidence high, the Twos travel to Leith juiced in search of another victory and a strong response to last week’s setback.

We’re throwing it back to childhood this week and celebrating our heroes! 🦸‍♂️

A settled side welcomes back Ricky Davidson after recovering from a sore ankle, while Charleson drops down to the Twos.

This week we host Accies, who will be eager to gain revenge after their heartbreaking final-ball cup defeat just two weeks ago.

It promises to be another cracking contest—see you there! 💪🏏🔥

Three big results to report this week, and you’ll no doubt have heard about the destruction at Goldenacre. The 1st XI piled on 420 runs, which, while unconfirmed, could well be the highest score ever recorded by a Penicuik side.

Scores from Waring, Adams, Steel and Bracken led the way, while the attacking prowess of Huolohan and Ashforth added a rapid 37-run partnership to push the total beyond the 400 mark. With the ball, the victory was driven by the spin twins, Ashforth and Stephen “John Fury” Brooks, as Penicuik secured a stylish and emphatic win.

The 2nd XI endured a tough fixture at home, going down to Carlton. Led by determined innings from Dhames Nadarajah and Uday Ranaweera, the Diddy Dos battled hard but ultimately succumbed to a nine-wicket defeat.

The 3rd XI were also in action on Sunday, and batting higher up the order, talented youngster Archie Smith registered his first senior club fifty. Archie, you’ll remember, took a hat-trick on his 1st XI debut last year and continues to add to his growing list of achievements.

A strong all-round performance from the 3s saw them post over 110 runs. Their young bowling attack then led the way, bowling admirably and proving unlucky not to pick up more wickets. While defeat was the outcome on this occasion, there were plenty of positives to take away and another excellent platform for the club’s young cricketers to develop their games.

All the key milestones of a fantastic Banjo solo. The young Aussie took 59 balls to reach his first fifty, just 30 more to bring up his hundred, and then only 14 deliveries to race to 150 as he cut loose in stunning fashion.

On top of this fantastic innings, kudos must go to the ever-reliable Richard Adams, who, alongside Banjo’s 152, scored 90 in a match-defining 264-run partnership that set up the game. Heriot’s knew they shouldn’t have fed the cut shot, but Adams and Banjo capitalised superbly.
