We held our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Duck Race at Garwnant on 8th April 2026 in glorious weather. Our young people were very enthusiastic participants and managed to find all 153 of the eggs we had hidden and everyone had a great time.

We kicked off our 2026 activities yesterday with an indoor archery session in Gilwern - with all our Foster Carers and young people in attendance. We clearly have a lot of talented people in our group with everyone developing as the session went on and performing to a high standard by the end.

Thanks as ever to Gavin Crosfield Outdoors for making the event one that everyone enjoyed.

We completed our annual Santa Cycle last Monday (22nd December 2025) but could not upload the photos to Facebook prior to Christmas Day. All the young people taking part in the ride were aged between 6 & 9 Years old - and a 9 year old and 6 year old completed the entire 15 mile ride from Penderyn to Cilfynydd.

Congratulations to all the riders and many thanks to everyone else who contributed to the event.

We held a Halloween Party yesterday featuring pumpkin carving, mummy making, and Pin the Nose on the Skeleton. The event was very well attended and enjoyed by all. Many thanks to all for their contributions and to Cilfynydd Community Centre for hosting us.

Our summer activities continued with a camp at Biblins Youth Camp (Ross-on-Wye) as a base for canoeing, orienteering, and archery - with our young people (and older people) impressing with their skills, determination, and energy.

Many thanks once again for Gavin (aka Bob) Crosfield Outdoors for his considerable contribution in making the activities so memorable.

We began our summer activities with all our young people joining a trip to Oxwich Bay yesterday - and as usual a great time was had by all.

We began our Easter activities with an Easter Egg Hunt in Penderyn on Saturday, 12th April 2025 and ended with a trip to Dan yr Ogof yesterday. Both events were well attended and enjoyed by all who took part.

We kicked off our half-term activities with a stroll to and from Sgwd yr Eira, and it was great to see our young people enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors, experiencing a waterfall, and splashing in puddles.

The following day they experienced the more manufactured environment of Inoflate (Newport) but seemed to enjoy it just as much.

Our Santa Cycle took place on Sunday. (It was delayed this year as Santa had told us that some of our young people would be getting new bikes for Christmas.) It was worth the wait because everyone got involved and contributed to making the event a success.

Happy New Year to everyone who has followed and supported us in the past year.
