Cardiff Huskies Para Ice Hockey Club A page for Cardiff Huskies Para Ice Hockey Club Together they went on to establish the club as one of the premier Sledge Hockey Teams in the UK.

The Cardiff Huskies Para Ice Hockey Club (Sledge Hockey Club) was formed in May 1995 by Andy McNulty, David "Jamo" James and Ken Ridell. The Club developed quickly, picking up a solid group of players developing players at all levels including the national team and in 1998 supplying 3 players and 2 staff to the GB Team for the 1998 Winter Paralympic Games in Nagano Japan. With the club able to build on these achievements, the late 90s saw a significant increase in players joining the Huskies and club tournaments starting to develop across the UK. In 2001 the British Sledge Hockey Association National League was formed with the Huskies winning it in 2003. The club then supplied another 3 players to the GB Team for the 2006 Winter Paralympic Games in Turin Italy. In 2006 the club lost its home when the National Ice Rink closed and wasn't able to train until it moved to the “Big Blue Tent” in 2008. By this time the club had fallen on hard times losing a number of players to retirement and more lucrative summer sports in the run up to London 2012. However since 2011 the club has been rebuilding. In 2013 it re-joined the National Sledge Hockey League winning Division 2 and with a number of current & past GB Internationals and Paralympians on the roster, the Cardiff Huskies were runners up in National League in 2015 and again in 2016 after moving to the Ice Arena Wales.

Despite low numbers and a late night fixture, the Huskies played valiantly - the score may not be in our favour, but the game was well played!

MVP was #3, Josh Davies! 🎉
