Penarth Water Ski Club Waterskiing and wakeboarding club located in Penarth and Cardiff Bay

Penarth Waterski Club mainly caters for the following;

• Wakeboarding
• Waterskiing
• Water ski racing
• Jet skiing
• Social events

Wakeboarding is growing in popularity now, especially with the younger generation, but can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Our club has a growing following for Wakeboarding we have some very skilled and competent members, who always enjoy encouraging and teaching

others to become Wakeboarders and to help current Boarders to improve their skills. Waterskiing has been around for a very long time now, but still remains very popular, again our club is very fortunate in having very competent skiers who again really enjoy teaching new skiers and helping improve the abilities and skills of current skiers. This club over the years has produced both European and World Champions in Ski Racing, this is a serious adrenaline pumping sport, with lots of action and fun for both competitors and spectators. We have helped to organize and run the European Championships held in Cardiff Bay in 2008, but most of the ski racing and practicing happens outside the bay near to and from our slipway in Penarth, whereas most of our Wakeboarding and Skiing happens within the Cardiff Bay Ski Zone. Jet skiing is another sport which is growing in popularity, probably due to the fact it is easier for people to take part in without the commitment of owning and handling a boat, which can be difficult without the assistance of others. Our club has started to embrace this sport and we have taken on numerous new members with Jet skies in the last 12 months, we are hoping to use our membership to promote safe and sensible use of jet skies, helping reduce the risk of unnecessary accidents and annoyance to other watercraft owners and members of the public. Finally our Club is very fortunate to have a very friendly and sociable group of members, who believe that being a member of a water ski club should mean more than just getting together for our love of the sport, but also to gather together for other social events, this will be developed even further in the future.
