Evening all.
It's been a quiet time as of late as nothing much has been going on.

To reflect on the 2022 season it went well.
We took part in 11 old bird racing and won 9 of them, we also topped the section 4 times all with different pigeons so was happy with that.

Young birds was a right off this year with a number of things going against us. Work commitments have increased and with a young family it's been difficult to say the least.

Today has seen alot of work done at the racing lofts sanitising all nest box fronts and bowls and a general tidy ready to pair up.

Even though I'm the racing side of the partnership I really enjoy breeding from the racers. I will have around 20 for sale 2nd week of January if anyone is after some.

Racers and stock paired up yesterday. The season has started. Roll on 2022, alot more effort needed this year with all the young bird team coming direct from the stock loft. Happy New year all.

Good evening all. A week last Friday saw us racing from Marlborough and what a disaster it turned out to be. At this moment in time we are still 14 pigeons missing which include 5 section winners 1 open winner and a good c**k bird that had gained several first prizes. To say we are devastated is an understatement. Out of the birds that returned home, 3 had been hit by the peregrine which resulted in tail flights and wing feathers missing.
We were well down in the result aswel which is the first time in 7 years we have been out of the top 5.
It looks as though the birds have headed down south towards Cornwall as we had 1 reported dead in Plymouth.
It's a massive blow to our team so we must now look to rebuild.
Saturday saw us racing from Newbury and I was a bit negative as to how the race would go.
Luckily we ended up being 1st 2nd 4th and 5th Milford haven Hs and 1st 2nd and 4th Haverfordwest Hs. We are also looking like we are 1st and 2nd section.
I'm not sure how the future is looking down in Pembrokeshire as it seems to be getting more difficult year after year.
We defo need to have shorter racing to build up the birds confidence (especially young birds)
Till next time,
Enjoy your birds.

Yesterday saw us at Cwmbran for the 2nd week running. We had a good ace again taking 1st 2nd and 3rd in Haverfordwest Hs and 3rd 4th and 5th in the Milford haven Hs. A big well done to Graham on winning and also looking like he has topped the section. We had excellent returns getting them all home.
This week they will be tested as it's a jump of 80 miles to Newbury. I am hopeful they will put in a good performance. Have a good week and I will post again next week.

In the Haverfordwest Hs we took the first 3 positions, then in the Milford haven Hs we took 1st and 2nd. It also looks like we top the section so happy days. Enclosed is a photo of the winner in the Haverfordwest club.

Hello all. We hope you are all well and staying safe. It's been a strange 12 months and let's hope things will get back to normal soon.
Here at the racing lofts things have gone up a gear. The exercise period has increased and the birds are looking very well. We are still uncertain what's happening regarding racing so we just have to carry on regardless. The plan this year was to have 1 early round of youngsters as we wanted them on natural dark. Unfortunately this hasnt happened, however we now have 60 young birds to get going. It's very difficult to do much with them due to coming off the dark at 7 and me going to work not long after. The only chance I get to put them out is the weekend, but hopefully when it gets lighter earlier I can get them going then.
We have also joined another club this year! Haverfordwest HS. A club who I joined as an 11 year old many moons ago. They are now using the pub I run as their headquarters so felt it was fair to support them. The plan is to split the team and send half to each club.
I will do another post once we commence racing. Take care all

We have been a bit quiet on here for a while. We both hope you are all keeping well in these strange times. Today I have paired up all the racers and they have settled very well. The plan this year is to breed all of the young bird race team off the stock up with Martyn..We need to race off all the top birds that Mart has bought in, so next season they will be tested to the limit. We would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year. Roll on 2021
