Drowning Prevention Week 13th - 20th June
Cold Water Shock is an autonomic response to immersion in cold or open water around the UK, both in summer and winter.
All open water in the UK is classed as cold water.
Just because the weather is lovely, and the water seems inviting, doesnt mean its safe to run, jump or dive straight in.
Get in slowly, keep you face away/out of from the water until the cold water shock passes. It usually only takes a couple of minutes.
Then you can dive under, jump, run.. do what you like.
